Thread to note supply shortages in the shops

Shortage of Horlicks in Intermarche. "No idea when it will return," said the cashier "But you Johnny English voted for Brexit and this is what you asked for "
I started this thread a long time ago, no one's posted in a while, but I'm happy to send a care package. Horlicks is one of the things I miss when I live overseas, so I understand and am happy to oblige.

Thanks , thats very kind. I can get Horlicks though , just at another shop,

Tomatoes in co-op today were a very light yellow/orange colour. They’d never be put on the shelf under normal circumstances. No cucumbers.

The independent shop has plenty becauase they can adjust their prices to the changed wholesale market price, when they go to stock up daily, whilst the supermarkets who locked in their prices with suppliers months ago can't.
Look at the difference:

Think that's bad? Check this out. Forget Waitrose, forget M&S and even Bayley and Sage, this is dodgy Dave's corner shop

But there are freebies to be had

That has to be a new peak Brexit level of fucking madness and desperation.

Imagine if you could travel back in time to 2016 and tell people that by 2023 the Brextremist press would be so desperate to pretend everything's fine that they were actively encouraging people to harvest wild tomatoes from sewers.

Though sadly I guess it would make no difference, as they would probably just see it as the lastest scaremongering tactic from Project Fear...

I am distraught.

Last year I grew about 100 plants from one Waitrose First Choice tomato and they were distributed all over Bournemouth and London. And they were tasty.

People are relying on me, but there are no tomatoes at all in Waitrose, never mind First Choice ones. :(

All is not lost:

There was a giant orange metal tin at home when i was growing up and it did say Ovomaltine and not Ovaltine, thought that might have been my dodgy memory but its true. My mum probably brought it with her from where it came from. Ovomaltine.

I recollect when linking to the DM was frowned upon. Nowadays even the Urban tories are out and proud. DM links and go NATO.

I await the first call to cut benefits in order to lower taxes.

It's not only a screenshot of a tweet, it's a screenshot of a tweet taking the piss out of the DM.

Tescos did have some tomatoes just now, but only the posh little multicoloured "Finest" ones, the expensivest ones they sell.
It seems there's a policy in there now of flipping the empty cardboard boxes over, maybe the idea is that they look a bit less depressing when you cant see the empty insides? Idk not sure it works, just looks weird.
