The new Aldi in Ferreiras is full of tomatoes . Oval cherry tomatoes from Portugal, the large pink ribbed ones from Portugal, other cherry ones from Morrocco and some insipid not ripe ones from Morrocco. Didnt buy any out of solidarity to UK urbanites.

Not exactly. The big four chose to impost tomatoes from countries that have had shit weather. There is shit weather in Turkey, Spain, morocco, so yes this is true. It's not the whole truth though and certainly is not nothing but the truth. It's easier for the big four to blame the govt, Brexit, the weather rather than their business practices.

They are grown under glass/plastic for the winter market here. They are ok but the spring and summer ones are a different kettle of fish as you can imagine especially from the markets.
