My south London high street has 9 halal butchers that also sell vegetables and spices and pulses etc gentrification has not arrived yeti live near a high street with aldi, coop, sainsburys, waitrose and a tesco extra. not one local shop that does veg though
But there is some to be had. Maybe the guardian was correct in saying prices had quadrupled?The independent shop has plenty becauase they can adjust their prices to the changed wholesale market price, when they go to stock up daily, whilst the supermarkets who locked in their prices with suppliers months ago can't.
