third position fascism

There's been a large current in neo-pagansim - for at least the last 30 years - toward hard rightism. Various Euro-right philosophers have rhapsodised about pre-Christian cultures and their values, and in the US "Nordic" and "Germanic" strains of neo-paganism have long been replete with white supremacists. It boils down to myths of cultural purity - myths which, if you read actual history, you soon find to be unsubstantiated by culturally-untidy fact.
This is a relevant recent exchange

Below is a propaganda video from casapound, Speaking to a Italian comrade in regards to Casapound, she explained that Casapound and their ilk have it the right way around, that on the left, you are expected to be somewhat up to speed politically from the start, that its meeting after meeting and demo after demo before you get an invite from comrades for dinner or a drink...or the walking club. What CasaPound do is put on free cinemas for young people, hip-hop nights, sports clubs, the politics comes quite slowly, slowly, and by the time you fully realize you're a fascist it doesnt matter because now, so are all your friends, all your activities, pretty much all your life.

Now the same person who was telling me this, was saying, and butchersapron may be able to help with specifics here, that despite all the anti-state and revolutionary trappings of CP, that if you follow the paper trail alot of their funding comes via mainstream rightwing parties and politicians.

Why have they involved turtles in this crap, I find that particularly annoying.

Tempting to compare that with the somewhat less impressive output of our own recently proscribed equivalent.

Tempting but misleading. As the left in Italy could put out an almost identical video that would compare equally damningly on their British counterparts too.

Casapound's Turin pub is the 27th best in the city according to Tripadvisor.

Asso Di Bastoni = Ace Of Clubs ho ho. It was also the name of an RSI aircraft squadron. Their shop in Rome, Testa Di Ferro, is next door to a pub I used to go to when I lived there. IRA tshirts and Bobby Sands bukes alongside all their usual tat.

The pub in Turin. The last few times they've attempted any sort of activity on the streets they've always been very few in number, heavily protected by police and contested by antifa

I assume they do this knowing they're going to provoke a response which then enables them to tut tut at the violent antisocial lefties and position themselves as victims.

I expect you heard about them bullying people who sell things off the beach at Ostia last month.

Roma, blitz anti abusivi di Casapound sulla spiaggia di Ostia. Vulpiani: "Intollerabile"

That article is down, apparently being updated but i'm a bit worried that the author has upset some horrible people. Whilst we're waiting here's another example of their contemporary activity:

The New Reactionaries: Amir Taaki, Alt-Right Entryism, and Rojava Solidarity

Those paying attention to these kinds of efforts have likely heard of Rojava Plan. It was a resource that sought to facilitate bringing internationalists to Rojava to work with civil society groups there, collect donations, and a variety of other projects. This article outlines what I believe to be a case of alt-right entryism into Rojava Plan and Rojava solidarity efforts more generally through the actions of an individual named Amir Taaki. Although focused on the Rojava Solidarity movement, it illustrates a problem that has surfaced in other movements as well.

That article is up on Libcom now.

An Investigation Into Red-Brown Alliances: Third Positionism, Russia, Ukraine, Syria, And The Western Left

Bartlett deleted one of the pieces that's linked. This was the gist of it.
Canada’s role as a subservient cat’s-paw of Pax Judaica (the Judeo-American imperial order) is all too clear. America too, in its endless bloodletting in the Middle East since the false-flag attacks of 9/11, is being used as nothing more than a vehicle for a globalist agenda that ultimately seeks the demise of ordinary Americans, especially those nationalist-minded citizens who have a long tradition of virtuous isolationism that is so very needed at this critical time in world history.

Also still available on the archived link. Kiwi nazi Kerry Bolton is quoted.

There were more updates on that Red-Brown piece. Would it kill him to actually mention what bit of what section has been updated?

September 2017 L'Espresso article on the business interests of Forza Nuova and Casapound.

Tutti i soldi e le società di CasaPound e Forza Nuova: così si finanziano i partiti neofascisti

I can't find it now but I read somewhere that CP also gets a €250k pa EU grant.

Fiore held an intentionally provocative FN rally in Bologna two weeks ago. 400 cops to protect about 20 or 30 of them.

I did a simple side by side comparison of the first with the latest version. For the benefit of any other headbangers/insomniacs here it is as a web page. (Note that in places paragraphs have been shifted about but not significantly changed).

Red Brown

I guess the author is learning a valuable lesson about the difficulties of imposing version control on the internet. Perhaps next they might tackle the concept of breaking things down into manageable chunks.

I wasn't entirely clear where the the first version was coming from. The updates - and the exchange of pleasantries between 'teh' in the comments at libcom and the author replying to teh - make this somewhat clearer.

I'm afraid the result is to make the text seem less rather than more useful as far as I'm concerned.

This is not because of my political differences with it. (For example the author, an anarchist, supports
the One-State Solution proposed by Ahmad Sa’adat, the Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
where personally I favour the No State Solution and forms of struggle today which don't close that possibility off). But then I'm cheerfully and unapologetically an irrelevant old scrote with 'off-message' sectarian views so political differences wouldn't in themselves make the text less useful.

What does in my opinion is the fact that parts of it seem to be based on other texts and appear to pick up the perspectives and politics of those texts in an unconsidered way along with their factual content. The section on Larouchianism seems entirely based on the texts about it by people like Chip Berlet which were written to demonstrate its 'brown' aspects. As a result there is not the slightest indication of what was 'red' about Larouche or why some people swallowed his form of 'luxemburgism' back in the late 70s. (Isn't some understanding what's 'attractive' about these groupings and individuals part of the point ? Or do we have to wait until they attend a conference with someone dodgy to see they are not 'our kind' ? What if they are cunning enough not to do that ?)

I get a strong sense that the new section on Sorel and others is carrying political baggage from the source material. The same with the account of the types of National Bolshevism.

My problem is that this leaves me wondering about the sections on political tendencies and people that I know bugger all about. How much effort am I supposed to put into taking account not just of the authors political perspective but those of their sources ? How careful am I expected to be about not just this texts presentation of facts and connections but those of the texts it employs ? If I was really interested might it not be quicker to just google the names for myself and cut out the middle man ?

I expected the Sorel stuff to be a brief copy of the stuff in the Against The Fascist Creep - an even more throw it all at the wall and see what sticks work - but, judging by the shared references to Labriola it seems to be a brief precis of the Sternhell sections on him/them. Sternhell's overarching thesis, of course, is that fascism developed originally out of left-wing impulses/movements.

In 2013 a French court ordered that some of the books (by Henry Ford, Edouard Drumont, Leon Bloy and Douglas Reed) published by Alain Soral's company had to be redacted (antisemitism and whatnot) but it says on his site this week that he's flogging them in their original forms anyway. What's he up to.

I saw this in the valleys of south Wales. A large amount of the working class in the Rhondda are into it.

They had a 'druid' who fooled them all with tricks. "He can do real magic" they told me :D

It`s bloody alarming ! I tried several times to get a meeting with the Druid. He was never up for it.

I was involved in community redevelopment projects in a housing estate and even the community organizers I was working with were horrifically racist.

I distinctly remember one of the main organizers turning to me saying that photo of the dead migrant toddler on the beach was fake. My heart went out of the project after that.

Seriously though- Anarchists need to stop walking down the sullied path of middle-class ID politics, clamber out of their lazy privileged trust fund life styles and start addressing the reality of the working classes.

We are not clay.

Which anarchists?

Uk anarchists. Sorry should have been more specific.

What is being criticised here is a particular political style, rather than a theoretical orientation - a style which labels as oppressive any deviation from a particular political line, which resorts almost immediately to public denunciation and exclusion, and which entails analytical and categorical rigidity, with corresponding boundary-policing. They can be distinguished from those whose approaches pursue open-ended becomings through the deconstruction of identity-categories (eg Heckert), which are minoritarian becomings rather than minority identities.

The anarchists that I know do not meet the criteria of your characterisation.
