Things to look out for in Lidl and Aldi

I am maybe the only person who has never heard of or eaten Stollen - after reading pages praising it's very being, i googled to see what i am missing. I can not believe I am surrounded by so many wrong'uns who like marzipan.
Thought I was:)
Still don't fancy it though

A mate of mine was telling me that Aldi have started stocking Wychwood's 'Pumpkin Ale' again, 99p.

Not been there to stock up yet, but mean to go soon!

Not in my local and I would notice because I know that shelf intimately. They have Hobgoblin in bottles for £1.25 though (Sainsbury's £8 for 8 cans this week, only slightly cheaper as cans are 440ml)

Well that was expensive :D didn't make it to aldi but will later. IKEA saw new glasses, longer teaspoons (so pickle can eat my big tub yoghurts without covering herself in the stuff) and some bits and pieces - no tea lights though, I was very good. Did have a breakfast though so will post on the FEB thread.

Lidl saw Halloween pasta, lunch (they have an in store bakery now so a nice cheese topped bun thing and smoked ham) a stocking filler for pickle, boring normal stuff (fruit juice etc) and this lot (photo coming when I get on my laptop).

Fuck me, those stollen bites are a bit lovely. First bite I thought oh no, going to be too dry for me but they're just not. They're not going to last at all

The stollen bites are good for dunking in tea, coffee, hot mulled drinks, hot chocolate - can you tell that extensive research was done on this?

Not all stollen contains marzipan. The poppyseed one is spread (swiss roll-style) with a paste made of poppyseeds and syrup (or, if you're really lucky, honey), and there are various fruit stollens available too.
Still, what sort of weird mutant fuck doesn't like marzipan, for fuck's sake?

They've got a petrol engine powered pressure washer for sale in our local Aldi/Lidl - I can never remember which one we've got

Luckily I don't need one - and I didn't see any stollen either

Saw they had Merino men's tights in Lidl, I thought it said 2 for £5 and put two in the basket. at the checkout the bill for a cabbage, some peppers, some white rice and organic carrots, cheapo balsamic vinegar(£1) sweet potatoes, some grannies, banana and onions came to £33 - I was quite literally shocked and a little embarrassed by my mistake, the checkout lad took them back, pretending not to know what these £13 a pair pants were.

they are Christmas crack. This year I'm going to try not to buy any. A few years ago I put on shit loads of weight over Christmas from developing a mild addiction to them. Last year I was quite restrained but still - they're terribly addictive.

Thankfully an expanding bump means there is decreasing amount of space to fill so I'm hoping this will help. But Christ, they're amazing.

Not a fan of marzipan either so can't really get excited about Stollen

I noticed some Pumpking Ale last night - it's not in the booze section, it's with the rest of the Halloween stuff.
