Had that before, nice and cheap .French week in lidl. Picked up a bottle of normandy cider which is chilling in the freezer
Cheap enough to cook with, but not to ruin food when you add it to fish, rabbit, or chicken.£1.99, not that cheap.
Serves you right for buying a pizza with pineapple on it!Here's one to avoid: Alfredo Deliziosa ham and pineapple pizza from Lidl. Sugary enough to serve as lunch AND pudding <bleurgh>
I put it back when I saw it had hazelnuts because I wanted it for pizza but I've had hazelnut salami before and it's lovely. Unfortunately I'm trying to lose a bit of weight so don't want tasty snack meats in the house.Well the Normandy cider is lovely. Has anyone tried the cured meat? I balked when I saw it had walnuts/hazelnuts in.

It's nice, and I say that as somebody who doesn't usually like meat with visible bits of fat. Sensible of you to put it back though, IME far it's easier to prevent accidental exposure if you just don't have the risky ingredient in the kitchen at all.I put it back because the girl couldn't have it. Looked nice though.

Still not sure why they need lactose or milk protein to cure some meats. It's nice, and I say that as somebody who doesn't usually like meat with visible bits of fat. Oh. I didn't even look at the ingredients. That's me out.Still not sure why they need lactose or milk protein to cure some meats.

Ah, ok. There must be another method too, because some are safe.IIRC it's to "feed" the bacteria that cures the meat.
And that's the annoying bit - milk byproducts are probably used because of cheapness.Ah, ok. There must be another method too, because some are safe.
