We have a local election for a seat on the council on Thursday. Not sure about Reform's campaigning technique. This morning they were hanging around outside the local primary school (which will be the polling station) with banners, during the school run. Not sure of the legalities of that but I'd say ethically, it's very dodgy!
I was in a CLP that leafletted outside primaries. It was all pretty gender stereotyped IIRC, with mainly women activists involved hoping to engage "Mums" at pick-up time.I've seen parties campaign by school gates in morning/afternoon but I don't think it's particularly common, if just because it feels very awkward

For a bit more info on Peter Lamb, read this. I challenged him online about this but he didn't want to respond, just seemed more interested in dissociating himself for the UKIP guy.Result! We had a council by election today to replace our Labour councillor in my ward of the town, who became our new MP. Reform were hoping to take this with a guy who got kicked out of the Tory Party because he was even too Islamaphobic for them. Instead they got spanked and even if he had teamed up with the Conservatives, would have still lost.
The results are in for the Little Parndon and Town Centre by-election:
Linda Clark, Lab - 511 ELECTED
Mark Gough, UKIP - 23
Ernesto Johnson, Green - 56
Peter Lamb, Reform - 201
Colleen Morrison, Con - 227
Reform UK is facing a schism over its approach to Tommy Robinson’s supporters, after two high-profile party figures said it was wrong to disavow those who went to a weekend rally backing the far-right leader.
Richard Tice, the deputy leader of Reform, said earlier this week the party “want nothing to do with” Robinson and “all of that lot”. Nigel Farage, the Reform leader, also said after the summer riots that he had never had anything to do with “the Tommy Robinsons and those who genuinely do stir up hatred”.
But two high-profile 2024 candidates, Howard Cox and Ben Habib, took a different position, saying those attending Saturday’s rally were some of Reform’s own people.
They're all waiting to see if they get a job yet.Have any Tories moved to Reform since Badenoch got in?
Might it be better to have more far right parties, at least whilst we still have FPTP?Let's hope this schism grows, and we see yet another far-right party implode.
From what I've been seeing of the Tommy Robinson lot, online and from the Tommyless protest, the other week, most of his supporters seemed to have rejected Reform and are going for dead duck party, UKIP, instead.Yaxley-Lennon was always going to be problematic for Reform, because although his beliefs and views are shared with many in Reform, Farage doesn't want anything to do with him, after all it was when Farage stepped down as UKIP leader, and the new UKIP leadership started to embrace Yaxley-Lennon, that Farage left UKIP and set-up the Brexit/Reform party.
So, this headline should come as no surprise -

I hope the timber used for this wasn't imported from Scandinavia

Although the exact details are disputed by Mr. McMurdock, he has confirmed that he was charged with common assault, leading to him spending a short stint in jail. The attack is understood to have happened 20 years ago, when he was a teenager.
In the run-up to the trial, the banker-turned-MP had initially professed his innocence, right up until the last moment. It was only after the victim and her family had given witness statements that James McMurdock changed his plea to guilty.
Reform MP previously served jail time for ex-girlfriend assault
He has been branded a ‘monster’ by the victim’s mother, who has also rejected the notion that he should be allowed to represent the public. It is alleged that McMurdock injured his ex, left her body bruised and marked, and was ‘pulled away by two doormen’.
