The Murder of Daniel Morgan - tell me more.

The same Ian Blair who was Dick’s boss when she orchestrated the killing of Jean Charles de Menezes, that Ian Blair? The man in charge of the Met during the period in question when the investigation in to Morgan’s murder was being trashed by his organisation in order to cover up corruption within its ranks? Who was given a peerage for his trouble? Well, if he says she’s a good egg, who are we to disagree?
His performance this morning was very much 'how dare you even question us'.

If by 'questioned' you mean 'kicked in the balls', and if 'under caution' means 'and all his money taken away, and then punched in the face repeatedly', then I hesitantly think we may be on board.
If by 'kicked in the balls' you mean 'have his genitals removed with a pair of rusty pliers in front of his whole family' and 'all his money taken away and then punched in the face repeatedly' means 'stabbed and left to bleed to death in the street' then I think I could also tentatively get behind the proposal.

FT explainer on report's charge of 'institutional corruption', and the blinkered denials by MPS and the paid talking head ex-coppers batting for it in the media:

That's very good, and very well thought out.

I agree that the Met of today is not the Met of 34 years ago. That doesn't mean it is not institutionally corrupt'.

From the GLA crime & policing committee meeting on Wednesday 21st July 2021:

This is what Dick said regarding the report and it’s authors:

‘Offensive’ was the word she used.

Didn't like their tone.

If they (the MET) appear to keep things quiet to protect their reputation, and there are ever occasions when they look like that, then that is not bordering on offensive, it is offensive. Offensive to the people they are supposed to serve.

Dick is taking the lead from her political masters; every time someone tells it like it is, they call for the tone to be raised...how dare you even criticise us.

She was given the job cos when she orchestrated the killing of a man going about his day she wormed her way out of that and those that place people in power are impressed by that kind of thing. That is where we are at with standards in public life.
