Super Refuser!
In the last five GEs I have voted for Labour. Not quite sure what your point is?It's what you voted for.

It's like blaming Brexit voters for the ensuing shitshow. It only serves to alienate people.
I struggle finding sympathy, but education is surely better than alienation.Naaah, I'm sick of right wingers complaining about the effects of what they voted for. Fuck em.

Absolutely, but people don't like admitting they were wrong, and instead of pivoting, will double down if their identity is attacked. He's been here long enough
It's just one of those new year things, where I try to be nice to everyone. I'm sure it won't lastMy mother used to say that a lot. She must have loved flies.
Never.You voted for Thatcher, right?
Never.
Whilst I was in the army we didn't ever register to vote, we came here in 1990 and I have voted for Labour in every election between then and now.
There is no 'maybe' about it.OK, fair enough, maybe I'm mistaken.

Not wishing to be too forensic here Sasaferrato , but since 1990 there have been 9 General Elections; are you saying that in the 1992. 1997, 2001 and 2005 you didn't vote or voted for one of the smaller parties?we came here in 1990 and I have voted for Labour in every election between then and now.
Nope, just didn't realise it had been that many. Mind you there were several in a relatively short time. Not wishing to be too forensic here Sasaferrato , but since 1990 there have been 9 General Elections; are you saying that in the 1992. 1997, 2001 and 2005 you didn't vote or voted for one of the smaller parties?
I did make a formal complaint when my Mum, who is 24 hour carer for my step-father, got carted off to hospital with a serious nose bleed and they decided to leave my Dad on his own in the house overnight. There were a few follow up email exchanges and in the end they said that whilst there was no formal requirement for them to look after anyone other than the patient, a bit of common sense might have been in order. I wasn't nasty or angry about it, I just did it so that it is less likely to happen next time.Hello all. Hadn't thought my post would spark this much discussion.
My dad has the start of dementia and the host know that he can't remember things from one minute to the next.
My issue is that my brother was expecting to take him from hospital to care home later this week and settle him in, but he got transferred in ambulance still in his PJ's and the care home weren't even expecting him.
As I said he was pretty traumatised, understandably.
The fact that my brother spent 1.5 hours travelling unnecessarily when he could have been at the care home to help my dad is neither here nor there.
I will write to complain, I expect nothing will happen. I realise of course that a chain of events could have led to this, but it just feels wrong that not even 1 phone call was made. My dad has been in hospital for a month and my brother visits every other day, so they know him and the situation.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone.
No, of course those who opposed Thatcher's policies are not 'bad people', I should have been more clear. I'm talking about the likes of the Poll Tax rioters, who took a demonstration and turned it into a riot, destroying the property, and livelihoods, of people who were in no way associated with the government. That was indefensible.
Ah yes, Lady Thatcher, the lady who kicked the socialist rabble's balls so hard, they are still whining like whipped dogs decades later.
I'm 68, there has been a Conservative government for fifty of those years. Blessed to live in such wonderful times.
You know that you have been effective when people are still whining decades later.
She did what needed to be done.
So you voted Labour in 9 consecutive elections?Nope, just didn't realise it had been that many. Mind you there were several in a relatively short time.
From Jan 2023Never.

I vote tactically, Council usually Labour. Scottish parliament, again Labour. Westminster, Conservative (although it is never going to win).
Next GE, not voting, which will be a first. I always vote, because if you don't, then really you cannot complain about what you get.
Like many Scots, my vote is generally to the lesser evil.
Not voting next election is pretty much as symbolic as voting Conservative was.
My political view could be described as a bit right of centre, but with a strong view on the necessity of more housing provision, decent education and restoration of the NHS. I'm prepared to pay a bit more tax for these things. I'm also in favour of hypothecation of tax.
