Can anyone shed any light on this? Rachel Reeve's lies.

You'd need to know what load 'abruptly' is carrying here though. Abruptly could mean anything from same day to a low-key worked out month's notice which her colleagues weren't necessarily aware of.

And this Wendy woman clearly doesn't like her so not the most reliable of witnesses.

The last company I worked for, I left abruptly. No sackings or owt, just hated all the cunts I worked with, so handed in notice and left at the end of the day without saying goodbye to anyone. Not even to Wendy.

There was one at Mrs Spy's work for particularly unpopular colleague and the envelope had 3 pound coins (probably put in as a piss take) in it by the time it had gone round the team. She felt sorry for him and put 50 quid in

I belive in this case the manager put a tenner in.

This particular guy was a pathological liar and bullshitter.

Only time I've refused to put in to a leaving present was my then Head of Department in a University. He was an adviser to New Labour, married to a Labour MP and, shall we say, not exactly a people person (along with ending up as a university VC). All good reasons for people not exactly digging deep. In fact contributions were so limited that a member of admin was required to do extra two sweeps of the offices to drum up contributions on the day before the presentation. :D I remained stony faced.

Having said all that, I've just read he's quite poorly at the moment. :(

A guy on LinkedIn versus a neoliberal chancellor. This is a battle I’m just going to watch from a distance and without much interest.
I searched everywhere, even in the garden shed. I was sure I'd find one in an unopened box from the last house, but no, not a single fuck could I find.
"Politician lied!" No, really?
Tune in for next week's shocking exposé. "Rain... it's wet!"

Amusingly the bloke thinks she’s a socialist. I wish she was.

If this is the best the man can get, he’s not as sharp as his name would suggest.
So, 'she's robbing every agricultural family'? Really? Fruit pickers? Those on short term contracts? S'funny how the interests of owners suddenly become synonymous with those of a whole sector.

You say that but what I heard from Wendy is that you were fired and had to be physically dragged out of the building and the law had to be called. That's what Wendy said. 🤷‍♀️

When you gotta go, you gotta go. When I did it, my boss said could you see your way to doing a one week notice and I said, sadly, I couldn't even see myself doing a one second notice.

I was done and gone.

I like Mrs Spy for opting for kindness.

Wikipedia has the following:

Reeves's first job in September 2000 after graduating was with the Bank of England.[10] She moved to Leeds in 2006 to work for the retail arm of HBOS, however she had claimed, for many years, to have worked as an economist for HBOS.[11][12] Due to criticism about her claims to have worked for HBOS as an economist her LinkedIn profile was subsequently changed and comments about being an economist at the bank were withdrawn.[13][14]

various figures circulate but i suspect there are considerably more than a few dozen to a few hundred families involved in agriculture in the UK ( exact numbers depending on which media reports you beleive)

The right wing response to all this (including calling her the worst Chancellor in history after only five months, and inter alia , the petition) feels to me like a massive misinformation campaign by bad actors. I would say "hysterical".

I'm no supporter of Rachel Reeves, by the longest of chalks. I'm just interested in the sudden ramping against her.
