It's nowhere near going down the crapper...second just behind Tesco
Wow. That surprises me, although I suspect they've probably got more stores than, say, Morrisons or Waitrose, possibly more than Asda too.

My nearest Sainsburys is noticeably much less busy than it used to be, probably in part because there's now a big Lidl's nearby.

The canary in the coal mine is the cutting back on necessary supplies and equipment, the delaying of repairs to staff facilities in store, sometimes for months, and hygiene and safety standards not being maintained, etc. A good reminder to the badged bootlickers (why do these types exist?) that the bosses don't give two fucks about employees, nor customers for that matter, except for wealth extraction.
