Yep, seems like the family has money - he was accompanied by a lawyer when he turned himself and was released to home confinement the next day, I don't think many other school shooters get that treatment.

I have a friend who (allegedly) shot her husband* when he was beating on her. She had a protection order against him, which he was violating just being on the property. Her bond was $250,000.
*It was in the leg. He spent the night in the hospital and was released.

It might have helped his case that family members say he was severely bullied, which video of the fight before the shooting seems to back up.
“Recently he was ambushed by a group of young males outside of school, stripped of his clothing in front of a crowd of onlookers, and robbed of his money and possessions,” the family’s Facebook post says.
The post said Simpkins had been “humiliated and stripped of his dignity” more than once, leaving him afraid to go to school or even to leave the house alone. “All of these occurrences were brought to the attention” of school officials, “And absolutely nothing was done to protect my son."

The more I found out, the more he was push over edge, plus school can not really do anything apart from punish the teacher for not keeping control of the class.

Its also possible that its wealth privilege since his family seems well off. Just being able to hire a lawyer that isn't a public defender makes a huge difference.

No. I’m not a gun fan so can’t identify that many weapons. It’s a bull pup layout like the SA80. Beyond that no idea. It might not even be a real design.

The Aug is another one I do know cos it’s weird and has that Star Wars inspired handle sight thing. This isn’t an AUG, although the magazine and trigger assembly does have something Steyr about it? We need a train spotter gun person. Not sure there really is one on here?
