Russell Brand: rape and sexual abuse allegations, grifting and general dodginess - discussion

No. A sex worker is paid for a specific job, and inappropriate touching would be touching that has not been agreed within that remit. The same would be true of any job, in any workplace, from offices to care homes. It's really quite simple, I don't quite get why you're struggling with it?

Like, sex workers saying they don't kiss on the mouth. Or don't do anal or whatever. Like any other worker, they have the right to refuse to do certain things ESPECIALLY WHEN IT INVOLVES THEIR ACTUAL BODY.

Suggesting that if you've paid then you can do what you want removes all agency from the prostitute. It's abusive, up.to and including sexual.assault and rape.

JFC do you really really think it's okay to cross boundaries because money is involved?

I get the distinction but, in that case, would "he touched me when he only paid for a massage + blowjob" really be a police matter?

Note here that we explicitly saying "touching". Not anything else which is obviously a whole different matter

My worry is that police involvement is a serious escalation. Worse than that, it can be made public like now. Really bad territory

The world's best sports masseur in the world wouldn't charge £500 per hour. Clearly a call girl

Is touching a call girl now becoming a police matter ?!

Holy fuck this is ridiculous

What's obviously going on is that everyone goes full confirmation bias and posts anything with the words sex + Brand. Can't people apply some critical thought per accusation?

Fuck off, McKenna!

Why is this tosser still here?

Would you say the same about a care home worker? "He touched me when he'd only paid for me to wash him," for example? If someone feels it's serious enough to involve the police that's their decision based on the fact they've been assaulted, it's not up to you to demand a fucking CV.

Do you believe that a standard masseur was hired for £500?
Larry King hair cut charges:

Ladies Cut & Blow Dry£510
Gents Cut & Blow Dry£310

And for that you have to go to him. So yes, a “standard massage” could easily cost a celebrity £500.

So that line of “logic” is dealt with. But this shit about whether it’s possible to sexually assault sex workers is really depressing, to be quite frank. I’m sorry I saw it.

Now who's the logic lord. We're talking about a situation where a sex worker is massaging a naked guy, after payment ffs

a) I wasn't part of the conversation where you were called a logic bro. I don't actually think you're behaving particularly logically.
b) You have failed to explain why a sex worker should be disallowed from acting when someone commits a sexual assault against them. Please do so.

No, we're talking about a situation where all you know is that she's made a complaint but your love for justice means you don't think that should be investigated based on a set of unsourced assumptions.
For the 30th time this thread. I believe the laws need to applied to the letter but the public accusations are a step far too far.
