Pro Cycling 2021

I reckon if I went absolutely full gas I could ride with him for about 30 seconds. He kept that up for nearly 5 hours, then did a 20 second sprint at over 1000 watts. That is unreal.

Be warned, I nearly missed some of the weekends racing because of the way Eurosport show their schedules. I looked at live now, there was nothing. I went into cycling and found it
Paris Nice today was a cracking ride, highlights at 8.

So, who’s everyone backing for MSR on Saturday?

Would absolutely love Gilbert to make history but can’t really see it happening. MvdP or WvA seem like fairly safe bets.

I'd like to see the World Champion win but I think he is just off those two in the sprint.
Been reading a bit about headwinds on the two climbs which might impact escapes and if so I could see Asgreen and Ballerini leading out Bennett who's climbing seems to have improved this season.
But if you were to give me a free bet I'd have to go with MvdP unless he gets bored and attacks on the Cipressa while eating a sandwich.

Thought there'd be more discussion about Team Sly on here.

"How can you run a clean team or a clean sport when you don't know what the doctor is giving the cyclists?"

I think I first maintained Sky were doping on here in 2014 and nobody believed...

In related news this is completely normal for a 26 year old apparently.

Oh I didn't believe the Tory lies that were going on from the very start. During the 2012 Olympics I got into a massive argument with a mate as I maintained Vino was probably cleaner than Team GB.

But what are you trying to say about MvdP based on those stats? He didn't have much of a road programme until recently and also these past two seasons were the first ones when he had some decent level teammates. These results don't prove he was on any type of Freeman Juice.

The progression looks a bit... Froomey...

I don't think you can really compare a crosser who took up another discipline to the Indurains, Thomases and Froomes.

His PCS stats aren't that different from Van Aert and Stybar but those two started to dabble with road racing at an earlier stage in their careers than MvdP.

I'm more surprised by Ganna. Well beaten by Remco, Asgreen and Affini in 2019 and unbeatable in 2020 (though of course there was no Remco).

Looking forward to this stage at the Volta a Catalunya tomorrow, 203KM, coast to the high Pyrenees with many big names in the race.
