Prince Harry

Much as I have given Harry the benefit of the doubt whenever he’s battling the Press or his nefarious family, I don’t understand why they would have tried to lose paparazzis in a two-hour chase, rather than just put up with the annoying cunts and let them follow you back to your hotel or wherever you were going and take photos of you getting out of the car?

Exactly, just tell your driver to pootle along at 5mph and there’s no danger to anyone…

If we accept that Diana was hounded to death by the press, why has Harry chosen to spend his life whoring himself out to the media in increasingly sad and desperate ways?

That would mean having a much lower standard of living. It would almost be like he's a commoner.

(He should give up fancy coffees, cable tv, and eating out.)

If Ginger and Sparkle had been killed in a car crash whilst fleeing from the paparazzi (especially if it happened in a tunnel), the conspiraloons would have gone into full overdrive.
All in good time, my dear, all in good time.

They have plenty of money now, and can afford their own fleet of helicopters, speedboats and fast cars, and maybe he will buy a light aircraft at some point.

Watch this space.

In a way I can’t begrudge him having a massive problem with the paparazzi culture given what happened to his mother. But this seems not only a gratuitous PR stunt, but one that might have put people’s lives at risk for no justifiable reason.

Having said all of that, paparazzi have always been among the lowest kind of parasitic scum imaginable profession-wise in my book.

They said on the radio it was because H&M were staying with friends and didn't want the paps to know the location.

Allegedly.

Lol.. a 2 hour high speed chase in downtown Manhattan :D

Anyone who's ever been there would recognise the stinking smell of bullshit with that one. Even the Mayor could barely disguise his disbelief. But hey, they're back in the news so job done.

Yep. Just have blackened windows and drive in a broken down old car...slowly.

I think they drowv round for ages trying to shake them off cos they didnt want to arrive at their host's home with a shitload of paps behind them...but maybe they should just get a NY taxi next time.

It's a non story really because a car "chase " implies speed and driving through red lights.. mounting pavements etc.
Apparently the paps didnt break any laws or speed limits. So whoever called it a chase needs to wise up.

It was more of a "follow" situation.

They have enough dosh to get a helicopter or else maybe they should just not attend public events if they dont want to be photographed in public.

Does anybody actually believe the paps were racing along pavements on motorbikes knocking people out of the way and running red lights for 2 hours? In one of the most heavily policed cities in the world? It's quite funny if nothing else.

No.
That didn't happen...the cops said no laws were broken and nobody was injured.
Although the cops did say that 2 cops were put in danger.

Having said that there are others.. (psychologists and counsellors) saying that the trauma Harry would have experienced would have been real...because of the way his mother died.

It is all a bit ott.
He fought in Afghanistan ... surely he is tougher than this? But maybe not. Maybe he is traumatised and believes his life is in danger.

I’m not sure that’s a nuance you’d appreciate if somebody was relentlessly following you, intent on getting to your home. The pressure to do something to get away would still be strong, and it could still lead to you doing something dangerous.

I edited my post btw.

They were going round in circles to try to lose the paps because they didnt want to arrive at their friend's home with a load of media people behind them.

Well, quite. That’s a chase — they wanted to lose the people following them.

Sounds like a shitty experience, especially with Markle's mother in the vehicle

A local law enforcement source corroborated some of the couple’s account, telling CNN that the couple were followed by a “swarm” of paparazzi in cars, motorcycles, scooters after they left the event on Tuesday. A protective team from the New York Police Department (NYPD) followed Harry and Meghan in another car, and was forced to make some avoiding maneuvers to get away from the paparazzi, the source said.

Paparazzi on scooters and bikes zoomed down the sidewalk to keep up, the source said. There were many close calls, including short stops between front and backs of cars, but none resulted in a crash, the source added.

if his life isn't, it seems pedestrians and other road users near him are
