I have to have HP sauce on my fish and chips. Its just not the same without. I always get strange looks from people serving me, and whoever I'm eating with. Seems completely natural to me as its what my mum does. I think it might be an export from Belfast where my folks are from.

It's not what I would reach for, but I don't mind brown sauce with chips generally, so can see how it might work.

This is not controversial. It's the natural way. Except for with Millennials, with their Uber Eats and their appalling grasp of history.
 
I can understand the less adventurous among us being reluctant to eat it in thick slices with eggs but maomao's diced into fried rice is a perfect application of it. It's delicious stuff. You'll be surprised.
We had loads of it when I was a kid and I just remember being horrified by the jelly.
 
One of my best mates used to sneak downstairs in the middle of the night when she was a child and eat raw bacon and sausages from the fridge.

She's still alive.
