Post your most controversial food/drink opinions

I actually prefer certain cheap sausages. I'm not massively keen on the chunks of meat found in some high-end ones. I like it all very fine ground.

Instant coffee IS better than any other kind.

Marrow is shit. Sweet potato likewise. And parsnips are sweet wood and are therefore bokeadelic.

Croissants are irritating to eat and not in the same league as breakfast muffins, toast or crumpets.

Cheddar is the best cheese.

Cookie dough is for developmentally arrested people.

Tinned taties are ace.

Steak is boring.

Crackling is disgusting.

Breakfast cereal is children’s food. You should feel ashamed about eating it as an adult. French cheese is filthy smelly disgusting shite.

I’m interested in how you use tinned potatoes - do you prefer them to fresh ?

Marrow is great if cooked properly - curried work very well as it absorbs the spices

Plain white sliced bread (Sunblest, Mothers Pride, etc) makes better toast than brown/wholemeal/granary ...

Everybody knows that sliced white bread makes the best, so it's hardly controversial.

I do suspect, however, that Spymaster hasn't actually bought bread for some decades. It's all Warburtons, Kingsmill or Hovis (yes, Hovis white bread) these days Spy.

Aye and if this is the case, I would like to provide a recommendation - Warburton's Toastie is the only one of those listed that doesn't contain enough sugar to be at risk of ending up on the cakes list of official food categorisation. Hovis and Kingsmill white sliced are both ridiculously sweet, they make brioche look like a savoury option.

You should eat your weetabix before the milk has had time to turn it into a slurry. They are whole wheat biscuits and you should be enjoying the biscuit crunch. No hot milk either, and if you have fruit with weetabix then you have likely been brainwashed by the serving suggestions on the side of the box.
