Moronic Kentucky students in Maga hats mock Native American veteran

Hmmm... I don't know about defamation law in the US, but over here it hinges on whether what was said/written would lower the person in the estimation of right-thinking members of society.

Given that many right-thinking members of society would already hold the wearer of a MAGA hat in particularly low esteem, I'm not sure how anything said/written by anyone else could be said to lower him in their estimation when he's already debased himself by wearing that hat and proving himself an arsehole.

Have you watched the raw footage of the ‘incident’? I have and I’ve got to agree with this synopsis:

The videos, which I have personally viewed, show that Phillips and some of his associates were the ones who instigated the confrontation. It was Phillips who thrust his drum in the face of the teenage boy wearing the MAGA hat.

“White people go back to Europe where you came from,” one of the activists shouted at the Catholic students. “This is not your land.”

And the young man in the so-called “stare down” can be seen trying to calm down a classmate while one of the adult activists cursed the child.

The boys were also accused of chanting, “Build that wall.” However, based on the videos I’ve seen there is no evidence to back up those accusations.

Oh, and those black protesters turned out to be members of the Black Hebrew Israelites, a radical group known for being anti-gay.

The video clearly shows the black protesters berating the teenage boys with all sorts of racial and homophobic slurs.

“Your president is a homosexual,” one of the grown men told the boys. “Your president is a homosexual. Greek was a bunch of homosexuals, just like the Romans. You proud of sodomy?”

“You give fa***ts rights,” the man shouted.

At that point, the Catholic school boys jeered in protest and disgust. One of the boys could be heard rebuking the Black Hebrew Israelites for using anti-gay language.

And yet, that information was completely left out of the mainstream media news coverage.

“Covington Catholic High School students surrounded, intimidated and chanted over Native Americans singing about indigenous people’s strength and spirit,” read the lead paragraph in Cincinnati.com.

In context, it appears that what really happened on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial is that a group of Catholic school boys was targeted and harassed by grown adults just because they were white, Catholic Trump supporters.

Washington Post has just settled with Sandmann for an undisclosed sum.


In January, CNN settled Sandmann’s multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit against them for an undisclosed amount of money. The suit cited the “emotional distress Nicholas and his family suffered” due to the network’s coverage of the encounter. So CNN and now Wapo have settled with six other prominent leftist media entities still to go - looks like Sandmann will end up being a multi-millionaire off the back of these clear win libel cases.

ETA: but I suppose we can be grateful for his efforts in bring a long-dormant thread outlining the despicability of those he admires back to current notice. Because, whichever way you cut it, that sneering cunt in the original video - and whom Marty1 clearly aspires to ape - is a very good advertisement for the disgusting unpleasantness of the right wing.

The Washington Post is a owned by Jeff Bezos the capitalist vampire exploiting Marty1 and thousands of others like him who pack and deliver for Amazon, his main company. Much as I am willing to malign Marty1 in other contexts, he has every right to be gleeful in his own shitty employer getting his comeuppance.

None of the media companies in question are on the left, so I'm happy to see them lose money. This was a manipulated clickbate story pandering to liberal prejudices: a hook for people to swallow.

Yep, and tho paying out potential tens of millions of dollars out won’t even touch the sides for Bezos due to his nearing trillion dollar personal wealth accumulation off the back of his dehumanising and exploitative work practises he inflicts upon his workers around the globe - he’s known for being a tight arse who hates parting with his cash :D
