to what extent a new president will reorientate their demands and policies is unknown. If it isn't signed before Obama leaves the negotiations will have to restart with a different perspective.

It's not a bad article, in that it is thought through, but it reveals a desire for relentless tax cuts. The proposed reduction in corporation tax is nothing short of a declaration of economic warfare. We'll see how the rest of the EU responds.

It does appear that he is the only person with any kind of plan, hence he has the job.

ETA: its whole premise is also that this will stimulate growth. And what if it doesn't? People will be fucked over, that's what - the tax cuts have to come in.
