July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

Just had a text from the missus - ok, thank fuck. Hoping that everyone else who's got people to worry about gets good news...

Both heer mobiles still constantly engaged, so maybe worth texting people if you need?

OK, I am a bit scared now - I know my sis is OK, I assume brother is.

This sounds like a fear campaign to me above anything else, designed to scare people and cause disruption. Don't let them win.

Fuck, they've convened the Cobra committee. Cabinet Office Briefing Room A. Serious.

can you not just leave kea?
just walk home or something

*worries* :(

tbh our security level is such that i feel safer here than walking through central london to cross the river and get home (and i'm bloody well not using the thames foot tunnel to greenwich, today!! )

just realised my sister is probably in central london, have tried her phone, first it got picked up after one ring and it sounded like lots of noise in the background, then it went dead and i can't get through now ...

My thoughts exactly...I was in a bomb blast in the 70s (not hurt just glass in my hair) and no way would I let it make me change how I lived my life. The same still applies.

Where's Mation? I think she lives near one of the locations, I'm sure she's fine but obviously stuck on her way to work somewhere...

Can any of the londoners online use their mobile?

- None of us can in our Holborn office.

I know this is just wild speculation, but I can't help wondering if they've closed the cells on the mobile networks fearing Madrid style phone detonations.

Bet somebody figured that.
My thoughts exactly. But the thing is, even if they (the police) had had full strength on the streets, nothing could have stopped a suicide bomber form stepping onto the tube or a bus. I am not saying this is what it is, but if they are going to do it they will do it.
Even Sir John Stevens said not long ago, that it's when, not if, it happens. Seems he was right.

CHRIST, sky have front shot of the bus.

There's nothing left. Nothing. Tavistock square as well, fucking hell!

Eyewitness reports, doctors police people screaming in background.

Two explosions at tavistock now

Can't get through to my friend either, she sent me a text saying she was on a bus trying to get to work, then nothing...

Do you know if AS made it to work?

Not everyone is that strong though - there are those people who only just cling on to normal living.....

Something like this can really damage people - even those who weren't directly involed

:(

texts aren't going through either. got the ok (that boyf is) through his parents outside london. the networks seem to work better that way.
god, I am just so terrified.

That latest sky witness report is fucking scary

btw...this parade of fucking so called experts are pissing me off with this expert speculation.

mrs21 just rang...she left london before all this happened, probably 10 or 20 minutes before...she heard various rumours when she was on the train..but now she seems to be stuck in peterborough, so i might have to drive there to pick her up
If you have any problems drop me a PM - we're in Peterborough and can pick her up if necessary.

Someone managed to get through to me 5 mins ago, I was amazed. I'm in East Putney, he was in Turnpike Lane... Network: T-Mobile...

I still can't get through to my friend though...

Broke my arm in an attack by ETA on an art gallery in Seville. Truly all thoughts with everyone involved
