just realised my sister is probably in central london, have tried her phone, first it got picked up after one ring and it sounded like lots of noise in the background, then it went dead and i can't get through now ...

If she picked up her phone I'm sure she's fine.

phew thank fuck, my sister just called me back on my work phone - she and my mum are fine. thank christ for that.

My thoughts exactly...I was in a bomb blast in the 70s (not hurt just glass in my hair) and no way would I let it make me change how I lived my life. The same still applies.

Indeed don't leave the terrorists win. Othererwise we are fucked.

My girlfriend has just been watching the Press Association live news feed... lots of nasty pictures of limbs lying around one of the buses...

A friend just called to say one of her colleagues arrived at work after seeing a bus blow up outside Kings Cross.

yeah it was the background noise which worried me, it was only a few seconds of loudness (she was standing by a road, it turns out!) but it's amazing what your imagination can do in that situation :(

Tourist on BBC saying it was a tourist bus that blew up...
I think she just saw the bus blow up - not necessarily a tourist bus - looks like the standard red type from the pictures.

Please note: seeing as many of the major news site are running slowly/down completely, there's a chance that urban75 may suffer the same fate during the course of the day, so don't forget the chatroom: http://www.urban75.com/chat.html

Woman on Jon Gaunt reporting seeing a dead woman outside the Aldgate tube carriage - she said the train actually lifted when the explosion went off.

She said it was a covered tourist bus...

Trying to phone friends...my cable phone doesn't even work 'a fault'

I'm very lucky not to have been going to work and getting off at Edgeware Road.

I feel sick and am shaking. WTF is going on?

I imagine its Al Queada. Seems well organised.Thank god I set of for work late. Hit three places I go through to work!

sky cunt just said 'anti-globilisation or other terrorists, but it wouldn't be wise to say at this time'

fucking tory shadow transport twat

I've been getting the tube in via Kings Cross to Old St where I work but cycled in today.....saw loads of fire engines and ambulances and wondered what was going on....

Thankfully we're all ok here at work - this all sounds bloody horrible and clearly timed with the G8 thing....

Yeah, but don't think she knew much about London buses - she then went on to say it may have been a 'big red'.

Don't take anything amiss from not being able to get through to people... mobile networks are clearly taxed right now.

Just spoke to my colleagues and they've been told to stay inside the building. A couple of people in my department haven't turned up or called in including a friend of mine. I can't get hold of her on her mobile and am worried sick.

Fucking cunts whoever is responsible for this.
