July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

oh no, this is really awful...:(
our news over here say "casualties reported, many injured"
take care, everyone- try not to panic, as someone said mobile networks are closed down and just because you can't get through to your loved ones won't necessarily mean they are affected...
what a horrible thing to happen :(

Unconfirmed reports that the phone networks have switched off as a precaution.

Good - I've always thought it insane that the mobile networks are actually going to start working on the underground, especially since people use mobiles to set bombs off

Oh god. I am in an internet cafe on Tottenham Court Road, unable to get to work or get home. I'm sure I'm safe but feels horribly near to Euston / Tavistock / Russell Sq.

OH is in Aldgate.. some of his colleagues haven't turned up. Here several of my colleagues came through Liverpool St and wondered why there were so many police... we all made it.. but we're stranded here in St Paul's ... it's eerie looking outside.. nothing moving but emergency vehicles..

It's highly likely the people you're worried about and can't contact are all OK. Stay calm and wait til the mobile networks clear a bit.

I'm assumimg that about Stig.

She was supposed to be on the tube today, from Kennington to North Acton (Northern and Central).

I'm sure she's safe, but it'd be nice to be reassured.

Support to all those affected and their family/friends. :(

Myself, I was cycling to work this morning (Walworth to South Kensington)and was unaware of anything at all ....didn't even know ANYTHING uuntil about 40 minutes ago ... my route was nowhere near the affected areas I suppose.

Most colleagues arrived here safely.

They'll check them beforehand. Bus is best option. Ambulance network cant' cope

No I meant how many people are injured for them to be using buses rather than them blowing up while using them

Most major cities you can use them. And the Newcastle system as well. Normally quite safe. Know this isnt relevant but Metro system in Newcastle running to suburbs only. Trains not entering city centre

If anyone has difficulty with the phone network, you can always use a payphone - these are reserved lines in the case of emergency and should always work.

Brother has just called home safe (he works very near Russel Sq). Girlfriend actually works in Victoria station but no reports of incidents there yet. Hope she's okay. Started work at 7 so should be safe. I'm going to watch news24 now.

Glad I was running late for work... And that we moved from living near Liverpool St station...
