July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

Not really no. Merely sensible.

Transport links are being targeted, thus shut down all transport. If they didn't and there was a bomb there...

As I said before Newcastle Underground suspended and local Metro Radio reckons there are numerous police vehicles at a site by the Tyne Bridge and Sage building

Eme's having to walk from Hammersmith to Brixton after they evacuated her office.

I read that as 'Brighton' for a moment, because of other posts

Stig may have to walk from North Acton to wherever she can get a train to South London ... not til after 5 o clock though.

(she may be able to get a network train from Wileesden Junction to Clapham Junction via Olympia)

I wonder how long tio will take for at least parts of the thansport network to get back on track?

I take it buses are running normally outside zone 1?

A 'device' at Stockwell...apparently the police have informed my son's school nearby to keep everyone inside.

fuck........:(

I've been so worried about you guys ever since I heard this. Fucking awful

gd bless u and stay safe :(

Innit get yourself home, walk and let us know when you get back. Don't go to work!! Be Safe.
Oh trust me, I'm not going to work!

I am not sure if I am safer here or walking... there are some police outside so I'm going to ask them for advice.

John X -- you may be able to get a bus to the Elephant, if what people say about buses still running normally outside Zone 1 are right.

Then walk to the visa office. Or taxi??

Best phone their landline first, to make sure there is someone there who can help when you arrive.

Today is not a normal day John. There may not even be staff there, the office may be closed. try ringing them on a landline if you can
Not only that but I shouldn't be at all surprised if flights are suspended.

All I can say is my sympathy to anyone caught up in this directly or indirectly. The best advise I can offer is if you are not in direct danger stay put, do not try to get home, do not try to get into London, avoid using phones apart from emergencies as all unnecessary movement will only make an extremely difficult situation (with an undermanned force) even more difficult, may expose you to follow up attacks and use of phones may clog the net. Wait until the situation has calmed down, even if that means kipping on the office floor and then make your way home preferably by foot. Keep safe people.

Ive just spoken to my sis in Brighton, she says nothing seems to be happening and she works for American Express......she said there was no evacuation or anything.

Prolly staying where you are is best.....even if it's central london - most of the chaos seems to be in tubes or on buses, innit...

innit... at terrorist scum, especially after the olympics yesterday!! I'm at school in the library and they have the radio on...I've got tears in my eyes as I'm writing this, it just seems to get worse and worse.

A few weeks ago i was on a train going to london and two people left a phone under a jumper and then walked out of the carriage, and then the phone rang...we got up and left because we thought it might be a bomb...trial run maybe?
