July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

My husband works in the Lloyds building - he is in some underground place right now - I have spoken to him and know he is safe :)

but I am not sure where my son is right now and O2 seems to be down.

the police are advising people not to come to central london, the army is on the steets, central london zone 1 is completely closed off

Doesn anyone know if pedestrians are getting out of Z1?

The sister in law of one of my colleagues was in the carriage on the train at Kings Cross that blew up. Apparently she is in hospital but she called her husband so hopefully she is ok.

Everyone told to stay where they are -- and thats probably best... :( (Source: Met Commis on BBC)

Has there been any word on how long the phone network will be down for? Kind of worried about various peeps & not being able to get hold of them is just making it worse. :(

My sister's in Brighton! What's happened to Brighton?

I live there - minutes from the station - haven't seen or heard anything.
BBC news says the station has been evacuated.

just been on kingsland road...buses are still running towards liverpool st, but are terminating in dalston...

explosions

Advice on radio to people is to stay where they are apparently, and don't call the emergency services unless situation is life threatening. They'll be updating.

I obviously picked the right time to be in Wales. Unfortunately a lot of my mates are still stuck on the front of tubes and so out of touch; I have no way of finding out if they're ok :(

Bloody hell, what a mess. No matter how much we prepare for it, it's still stomach churning.

We still can't get through to the police station, I suppose if they need him they will call. The army is on the streets now so they will provide lots of support. What a fucking awful day.

Apparently all bus services and tram services in central Manchester have been suspended.

Overreacting, non?
Not really no. Merely sensible.

Transport links are being targeted, thus shut down all transport. If they didn't and there was a bomb there...

Tell the jobsworth cunt to go fuck himself.
actually, it's probably a very safe decision (tho he sounds to have announced it in a highly cuntish way). Bombs are going off on transport, not in offices, so stay in the fucking offices.

As long as the situtation requires probably. At least not till around early evening I'd guess?

My wifes in central London but she got into work before it kicked off :) Though how the whole of London is going to get home on foot is anyones guess.
