Joe Biden's time is up

again you don't think it "really matters so much"?

Really, you need to look at your politics if you don't think it matters to have an outright fascist government in power.
You're completely missing the point two sheds. And what you seem to be saying is that anyone who doesn't vote for your precious democrats is a 'bad person'.

Sometimes you remind me of 14-year-old boy who has read a couple of "radical" books.

Yeah, well said - of course Joe Biden is shit, the Democrats are shit, and capitalism is extremely fucking shit, I think that's so clearly the baseline position of almost everyone posting here that it doesn't need to be restated.

But at the same time, if the only choice on the ballot is between somebody who believes in abortion rights, removing barriers to Black people voting, dealing with climate change, moving toward universal healthcare, etc., and somebody who holds completely opposite positions, it's pretty fucked-up to argue that it doesn't matter which one gets elected.

The child tax credit is one that sticks in my mind - by a lot of accounts, it was fucking transformative, it was a massive step toward ending child hunger etc. and a lifeline for millions of families, it was supposed to be made permanent as part of a big legislative package that would have raised taxes on big corporations and billionaires, making it a direct transfer of wealth from the richest to the poorest, but instead it ended, plunging an estimated 10 million children back into extreme poverty, because every Republican in the Senate plus Joe fucking Manchin opposed it.

So yeah, it doesn't matter who wins elections, taking a few minutes out of your day to vote for the less shit candidate every couple of years makes you a mug that's just supporting the whole rotten system, and it doesn't matter if 10 million kids go hungry tonight because they'll be eating like kings when the revolution happens.

Nope, that is exactly the point. Your politics have become so shit that you don't think it really matters if a fascist government takes power. I'm willing to accept that my politics are shit, too, but I haven't sunk that low. All your stuff about 'Creepy Joe' I was wondering whether you saw him to be as bad as or even worse than Trump. You've confirmed it.

They're not 'my' democrats I live in the UK, and the democrats are further to the right than the tory party. They're fucking not fascists though.

I can understand people wanting the benefits of certain reforms but not that reformism is the be all and end all. Unfortunately it seems thats what alot of people have settled for.
Who is saying that reformism is the be-all and end-all? One can still vote and do other things politically. You seem to think that voting is the same thing as actively campaigning.

Personally I think if you vote you're giving your consent to be ruled by govt that will always be repressive in some way and you're handing over power to someone who will misuse that power and use it nefariously and repressively. But I understand that what people do is up to them at the same time. It also seems to me that people have just gone over to electoralist politics because its easy, just putting an X on a ballot sheet every 4 or 5 years.

Nope. And I've explained my position perfectly well. But its not your politics and because of that, because I have different politics to yours and and don't agree with your politics you're saying I'm a 'bad person'. Basically you have the same sort of totalitarian mentality as the fascists. This is what electoralism has turned into.

I realize that you're on a mission to be more revolutionary than thou.
This is simply not true. My beliefs are just true to anarchism thats all. I believe in actual anarchism. Things have got so liberal that thats now seen as 'more revolutionary than thou' basically as 'too revolutionary/radical.'

I would also say that its actually very pragmatic to be able to see that the likes of the democrats are not on your side as a working class person and also that they do a great amount of harm. And in their own way they fuel the right, aswell as diverting and smothering people's anger and energies.

Holy shit, he really is 14.

So basically the likes of Durruti and the Friends of Durruti Group during the spanish civil war and revolution were 'on the side of the fascists'. Thats where your sort of 'logic' ends up. The most anti-fascist and decent people from that revolutionary struggle etc were 'pro-fascist' according to your sort of 'thinking.'

Voting involves what I described and its up to me not to do it. People put too much of their time and energy into electoralist politics instead of genuine autonomous altenatives like I have said.

How much time and energy does it take to put an "x" next to the non-fascist? A fuck of a lot less time than it's taken you to say the same thing over and over again with slightly different phrasing. You think voting hands over "power to someone who will misuse that power and use it nefariously and repressively" - what do you think not voting does?

You're surrendering the tiny bit of power you have to the nefarious and repressive elements without a fight - and you're acting like it makes you superior,

If you vote you're countering against the other stuff you're doing. I know thats not how you see it but thats my view.

But people don't stop there - they also put their energies into campaigning, which takes many different forms, and that is a diversion. They also put some hopes into politicians who will always betray them and have their own agenda as we have seen with Obama and then Biden - that is also a diversion away from the autonomous alternatives from below that I have mentioned and I believe that it is counter productive and harmful to them.

I also think the best and only real way to defeat the fascists is to go the autonomous alternative route and not the electoralist one.

Oh no, I better not vote for the non-fascist in case I get sucked into a vortex where I end up enthusiastically campaigning for their shitty neoliberal parties and blindly believing that their shitty candidates are the fucking second coming of Jesus Christ.

People like you are a big part of why Donald Trump and Boris Johnson got elected.

Noam Chomsky is a committed anarchist, but his view on voting is that we won the right to vote with blood and we need to chalk that up as an important historical victory. It remains a chink in the armour of the establishment. The fight continues to extend democracy, not retreat from it.
He's as cynical as anyone about the limits of voting
Yet he says people should vote for Biden

I agree with that. LIke everything in politics it is about being strategic and being able to navigate contradictions.

I dont think you should vote for a reactionary Labour if you live a Labour safe seat though

lol if enough people chose the way I'm referring to the likes of Trump and Johnson would be stripped of all their power.

I see little point for voting for reactionary Labour if you live a Labour safe seat though
I disagree with the overeducated professor and advanced liberal Chumpsky.

Mint Press news lol. That well-known source of Russian disinformation
I'm not familiar with them but I think the message of the video is spot on. And unlike liberals/electoralists I don't have to agree with someone 100% to acknowledge that theres some truth in what they say. Liberals are obsesssed with demanding full agreement.

There may very well be a recession in the offing, but you will notice that they link it to the ongoing U.S. military assistance to Ukraine, why do you think that is?
The obvious point of the video for me is that Biden has decided to spend billions on war when he could have spent it on 'his own people' who so desperately need it, aswell as housing and healthcare. But hey, thats the class war for you and people like you have picked your side.
