I am having this for my tea tonight. I will be showcasing my new invention - the cheezbean. My children will be getting the night off from homework so that they can cut each individual bean in half and insert into the centre a small sliver of cheese. I've applied for the patent so don't even think about it.

Saturday I quizzed the teenager what from my range of dishes he actually liked after he complained about Friday's food.
We went through my limited repertoire, Haddock no, Cod no, steaks no, pasta Bolognese not really (but we had that Friday), scrambled eggs no, beans on toast definitely not, sausage and mash perhaps, Aberdeen angus burgers no too fattening, on it went. We are getting nowhere with this I said, just tell me what you want to eat on Saturday night?
Baked potatoes with beans and cheese! Ok no worries, that is what we are going to have. I blitzed these two massive spuds in the microwave then into the oven for thirty minutes then I slavered on beans and cheese and they went back in the oven. Ready I called him down.. why is the cheese melted? you aren't supposed to put them in the oven!! whinge whinge is nothing ever good enough for a teenager, I mean I ask you?

I hope this isn't entirely inappropriate. It's with slight trepidation that I post an alternative to the great Jacket potato, cheese, beans and cheese meal. Here we go - a potato and cheese dish suitable for anyone with middle class foodie pretensions - sweet potato, goats cheese, pine nuts with a side of rocket.

10 mins in the microwave!! I think you're right Badgers....something frisky is definitely occurring. Beans surely go all hard/explode if you put them in the mic too long. Those crispy diced potatoes are definitely not crispy, nor cuboid and in fact I'm doubtful that they are even potatoes at all
