Artaxerxes
Look out, he's got a gnu!
Have an account it was pretty dead
It’s quite incredible how utterly fucking stupid these people are.My belief, for what it's worth, is that the 'rate limiting' "decision" is pure spin to explain/cover up some underlying issue that has developed probably thanks to one of Musk's genius decisions. I see people are linking to articles from earlier in the month like this one:
Twitter has reportedly refused to pay its Google Cloud contract - Endgadget (Jun 11th) (Archived)
I note that the problems began the day after that June 30th renewal date.
Of course it could be something else. Or that and something else. Or that and multiple something elses.
What I don't find persuasive is the idea this is the result of some "cunning plan" by the 'Tossler'.
Earlier in the week details began to emerge of the new CEO's plans to turn the finances around.
Linda Yaccarino’s vision for Twitter 2.0 emerges - Financial Times (archived)
She was the former head of advertising for NBCUniversal and the whole of the strategy being outlined is winning back advertisers. You can hardly do that if you are drastically reducing the possibility of people engaging with their adverts.

Cost of living crisis innit, the prices of even the most basic essentials are skyrocketing.Has Blue always been £11 a month?
I thought it was 7.99 or something.
Meta is working on one as well. I guess it takes quite a while to launch an alternative that works well and no one was really working on it when Twitter was working well as no one would’ve switched.
5 things to know about Meta's Threads app before you entangle your Instagram account
Facebook's parent company released its Instagram companion app, Threads, as a direct competitor to Twitter.www.zdnet.com

Maybe forums/messageboards will ride again!
Oh yeahYeah, the future of reddit is definitely looking rosey.
Twitter don't pay the server bill and they're not paying their office rent. Don't understand why the servers don't get switched off and the locks changed like they would for anyone else
Also if you do not observe all the legal processes to the letter, you could get sued for causing billions of dollars of losses to every interested party. There's an element of "if you owe the bank £1000 it's your problem, if you owe the bank £10,000,000 it's their problem." I would say.
They never really died tbf, Reddit is a glorified giant message board, discord is a message board with liveposting and app integration, etc. Boards like these could probably sell themselves as minimalist decluttered communication for the discerning 2020s gentlebeing though .Maybe forums/messageboards will ride again!

I've emptied the washing machine and done the dishes.we're free at last.

Have they tried turning it off? Maybe not bother with on again bitThis seems like a reasonable explanation for yesterday's mess:
Twitter bug causes self-DDOS tied to Elon Musk's emergency blocks and rate limits: "It's amateur hour" - Waxy.org
An "amateur hour" Javascript bug is self-DDOSing Twitter, sending infinite requests from users related to — or possibly even causing — Elon Musk's "temporary emergency measures" to stop web scraping.waxy.org
Discord is basically IRC plus
It’s fine but it’s not easy to keep on topic or go back to your old posts
Plus like IRC, the contents of Discord servers are invisible to search engines. Reddit is/was one of the most reliable results when searching for information on Google, standing head and shoulders above all the SEO-generated dogshit. Seems like the current CEO of Reddit is determined to destroy that.
400 posts or whatever it is does sound like a hard limit to reach tbh
