Way more than Dunphy . Way more .

Undoubtedly however the idea that the media industry is made up of gak hoovering wankers is a unimaginative untrue cliche.

For example Gilligans gang were mainly involved in cannabis smuggling so if you bought a shitty eighth of soap bar in Dublin in the 90s you know how you got it

I've never bought drugs of any kind ever from any dealer anywhere. Ever . And the 90s in particular was a period when such a notion would have been beyond laughable .

The 90s were a quarter of a century ago . So what that's got to do with the current Irish media being coke guzzling dilettantes is anyone's guess . Bunny rabbits in your head at the controls again by the looks of it .

And yet you try and tell us you're intimately aware of the drugs habit of the Irish media today.

I mentioned the 90s as that's the last decade that the hard partying hard drinking hack was even closely resembling true. These days if you tried that you'd be sacked with cause even if you weren't a freelancer on a zero hour contract whose knowledge of class As are at best something you discreetly do at weekends

I've said nothing whatsoever about hard drinking hard partying hacks . I've referred only to the Irish media being full of people who use drugs recreationally and hypocritically . Bearing in mind the source of those drugs . You've run off with a wild imagination and conjured up something else entirely.

Probably because you're a bit of a bollix.

No you've made the claim the Irish media is full of people who do loads drugs. Based on zero evidence. As per usual.

Burton was terrible last night constantly interrupting people, verbally attacking one and just generally dancing around them questions put to her. Also Creighton and the Renua party seem like a genuinely mad party. Convicting young people's parents for the actions of their children? What scares me most is that the audience clapped loudest for those sort of comments.

Kenny, Adams and Martin were pretty average but I agree the left wing candidates did the most although they seemed to be treated more harshly by the questioner.

Was just talking to my mum. She says she had three FGers call to the door, but they didn't discuss politics with her.

Tg 4 have cancelled the 4 way debate between the main party leaders because of the lack of Gaelic fluency of both Joan Burton and Gerry Adams. Which is a bit embarrassing for the bloke who bigged up his time spent in the " Gaeltacht " cage back in the early 70s in his books, and all manner of stuff like that . Not having a go at him for not being fluent. Just for pretending he was for the past 40 years .

Irish election debate cancelled due to Gerry Adams' and Joan Burton’s lack of fluency

In Belfast years ago someone told me that SF had to ask the Newsletter to stop sending their Irish speaking reporter to SF press conferences, because it was embarassing Gerry!, eh I mean, Gerry.

Seriously? I have never heard Gerry A claim to be fluent in the Irish language. Not once. Indeed his limited Gaol-tacht Irish has been subject to much pisstaking, from republicans and reactionaries alike - including from Adams himself.

I would have though there was a world of difference between being able to hold a conversation in Irish and being able to debate the finer points of politics and economics.

This is just...

a) FF and FG using the (entirely coincidental) fact that the two current leaders are fluent in Irish to, shamelessly, score cheap political points.

A discussion between Bertie Ahern and John Bruton would have been two minutes long at a push (maybe they could have talked the words of Amrhan na bhfiann back and forth - if JB actually knew it... he probably thinks 'Ireland's Call' is a much nicer ditty) and

b) CR using any handy stick to beat Gerry (When CR barely has enough Irish to bless himself without using google).

Sin sceal eile.

a bit????

Yeah, and was taken a while ago.

I just remember having a faint sense of wonderment when Butchers and brogdale were doing their reading the polls thing last year.

Red C are market research and political polling company generally reliable.

My thoughts / predictions

I think FG will do better than expected particular with undecideds. Simply put there arent credible alternatives. I don' think they'll return with the same majority.

Labour down. Bruton to lose her seat. Punished for election promises broken.

I don't think SF will do much better than they already are SF can keep saying the voters "don't care about the republican past" but I think they do and I think SF need to break with Adams to move forward.

I don't think SF/FF will together do well enough to form a govt.

There is a possibility that FF/FG will finally stop pissing about and finally fuck, but I don't think it'll happen this election. If no one forms a stable govt this election and there's another election within a year it may happen.

I think AAA & Soc Dems will do well (maybe an extra seat or two) but both would be better off out of govt.

Can't make a call on independents as they are a case by case basis.

I think FG/Labour/ scramble of independents will form a govt.
