I've looked back at it and it is arguable, so in all honesty I'll withdraw my post.

Thanks for your honesty and the withdrawal - and all but what you posted was a bit strong given the toxicity of this thread.

Would you like to re-read my post advisiing 8den to pull his neck in now? Maybe what I actually wrote will shine through instead of what you perceived I wrote.

Your problem here would appear to be that you have been handed what you consider a trump card (I have no idea why you would consider it so, but who knows how your buckled brain works) but you cannot actually play it (Unlike your creepy ‘friend’ who did actually did post my name on here).

You cannot play it because if you do choose to do so then anybody is only a few clicks away from my home address, home phone no, mobile number, email etc. This may expose my wife and children (who have nothing at all to do with some silly internet spat) to silly and/or threatening phone calls from some naughty boys with stiff right arms from the bad old days.

So in effect you are implicitly threatening the well-being of my family. How brave of you.

The problem is though that you can’t play that card, can you? Not without getting yourself banned, possibly permanently, from here. Plus all those posters on ‘Nobbing and Sobbing’ from whom you have courted sympathy from and expressed empathy to, would be totally disgusted. And that would be the least of your problems.

Every action has a reaction 8den. Once the genie is out of the bottle, you cannot get it back in. Perhaps before you drag my family into this silliness, you should give your ex-missus a call at her rural idyll and ask her how she and your child would feel about you taking such a foolish action, despite being advised publicly to desist.

As I have said many times, I have neither knowledge nor interest in your RL identity. Same goes for your creepy ‘friend’. That may change should you not desist from your present course.

Feel free to give me a call to discuss this. Use the landline as the mobile reception is shit round here. If you, disingenuously, claim you don’t know my numbers just ask your creepy ‘friend’.

No.

I have issued you with the internet equivalent of "You are being a very silly little boy and if you don't behave yourself I'm going to phone your mum".

And I will if you don't stop your nonsense.

I've just sent an explanation to another poster of exactly what you and the creep are at. That poster is fair-minded. I will await his response and opinion with interest.

feel free to ring me anytime 8den.

These are clearly attempts to intimidate a poster by threatening to reveal RL identity, which is strictly against the rules, and I can't see any mitigating circumstances—in fact looking at the last few pages just makes it worse. I'm putting a month ban on and anything in future will be permanent.

No they aren't. They're making it clear that if that asshole succeeds in identifying him online..like his mate did previously...then he'll be getting in touch with him personally. There's absolutely nothing there ..nothing..threatening to identify him to anyone else .

Bollocks...that's fucking ridiculous. And the cunt who previously did identify liamo in RL got clean away with it.

I didn't get away with anything; that situation was dealt with. Whereas both you and your "friend" have been piling up the ad hominem attacks for several years, without any resistance. Not content with that course of action you then started insulting my wife.

The results of this election spat are in - you and your "friend" lose.

Not quite sure what the beef is about here, but I'm a little uncomfortable with the smugness around the Irish language and accent. I don't know if Liam O is from England and lives in Ireland nor do I care but posts like the above present a picture of "Irishness" as exclusive. Tt denies a sense of belonging to all to those not born and raised in Ireland, the sons and daughters of emigrants and the immigrants of the 90's and 00's who arrived in Ireland and achieved citizenship. None of whom will have much Irish or speak with an Irish accent.

I was on the Luas one day and I heard Irish being spoken behind me. I turned around and it was an African girl and a Chinese girl (both in school uniforms) chatting away to each other.

As for accents, well to people who are not Irish, my accent sounds Irish, to Irish people (especially Mayo people) I don't sound Irish at all.

The issue is that Liam has made point that certain people aren't truly Irish if they don't share his particular worldview or politics. For example a popular term of abuse he uses is "west Brit" ie those from Dublin or those who don't subscribe to militant republicanism.

My tent is large enough that I'm happy to consider anyone who identifies themselves as Irish yet Liam and CR seem determined to exclude and mock anyone who is Irish but don't subscribe to their viewpoint.

Therefore it would be somewhat ironic if LiamO accidentally revealed that his own national identity would be seen by many as not Irish and therefore the axiom about glass houses holds true.

Absolutely agree. The accent beef comes about from Liam and CRs obsession with D4 accents and how they perceive I or 8den may or may not speak. And the West Brit epiteph because I don't subscribe to their flag waving bullshit. I don't have a strong accent, never have had. People mocked my mom for being a "foreigner" when she first came to Ireland & now you wouldn't be able to tell she wasn't born there.

Childish as it is, I'm just giving them a dose of their own medicine. You can be of any religion, colour, creed or nationality and call yourself "Irish". But Liam seems to be over compensating and I'm tired of it, tbh.

After voting for themselves to have another eight days off in order to form this Grand Coalition. Slowly and surely these two (and Labour) are decaying.

Though Moany Joany is trying to form a Progressive Left alliance with the Social Democrats and the motherfuckin Greens. Just give up already.

Who should govern, in your view?

Talking to my mum, and she says that Michael Martin rejected the idea of a rotating Taoiseach, and evidently thinks he can go for it and make it as the overall winner. What do you lot think?

Personally, I never voted FF or FG - so I'd probably have stuck with Labour or possibly even SF. There's new people coming up the ranks without the baggage of the past; which I find agreeable. However, I don't live there anymore so it's not really my business at the end of the day.

Well, in my view I would love a Workers' Republic, made up of a fraternal federation of workers' assemblies.

However as that is not on the cards I think FF and FG should form a grand coalition, thus allowing a proper right left split to finally emerge in Ireland. Saying that I have a secret hope that Ruth Coppinger ends up as Taoiseach.

Never happen. The people who voted for fg or ff aren't suddenly going to turn out to be raving libersals

But you are a west Briton though, there's the thing . Your complete and total misunderstanding of the political term not withstanding . It has got nothing to do with either accent or ethnicity . Much less Dublin..ffs

CR have you ever heard me speak?

It's a derogatory term used to suggest any Irish person who rejects armed republicanism. It's usually used in conjunction with Dublin or D4.

I think it has a far more specific meaning than that, even if it may get bandied about in the manner you suggest.
