Just been banned........again. I dared to post a complaint about turning up at a station for a train that I have caught many times before, that ended up having been shifted to depart from another station (which I didn't know about), and the "locals" didn't take kindly to it.

What really angers me though is that a few hours ago the mod that locked it made a post admonishing everyone in thread, yet now I've just got a email basically saying that it's all my fault.......

Apparently I was "rude", except that I wasn't rude at all. If anyone was being rude it was the people I was defending myself against. They included a bunch of quotes from the thread, in none of which was I "rude".

I don't know if I even want to go back, because I have had it up to here with the way that place is moderated.

Sounds like you've met a similar mod trained to the same lack of standards that I have found at the failing and tax dodging Al-Guardian's komment macht frei no reason given just banned on Al-Guardian and pre-moderated from my Twitter login...............Had the last laugh though sent Al-Guardian an e-mail asking why I was banned/premoderated and got no response then sent them another e-mail saying I was gonna be about £500 a year better off as I was no longer buying their wretched so-called newspaper

I only use it to get free advice on complicated ticketing arrangements. For example I now know I can legally save £1.10p when going to Paddington by getting a ticket to Acton Main Line instead and not completing the last leg of the journey.

I am simply astonished that someone of your easy-going, emollient, and non-confrontational nature has ended up in such a situation. Especially on a forum not entirely devoid of some of the nitpickingest rivet counters on the planet...

I'm only banned for a week, but I'm thinking I won't go back anyway, because the way the place is run just winds me up. It's THE most bizarrely moderated forum I've ever had the displeasure of being a member of. I'd already severely curtailed my posting (after previously being pretty prolific) after my last run in with the powers that be a few years ago.

My mum used to make a right meal out of buying train tickets, with the complicated pricing/route rules, just to make the most out of her freedom pass (I don't know any more than that, I wouldn't have been listening that well) but she did at least do that with a complete lack of FURY

Curiosity. I've always been mildly interested in train type stuff, and I wondered what a bunch of True Believers hanging out might be like.
