Meanwhile ...
I often post random, weird, music here from the 60's, 70's 80's and beyond - and from all over the place.
All of which have accompanied the crazy Friday-nights experiment ongoing since 2010.
I've also explained that these are just my own, occasional, random, submissions into the Friday mix.
In general, the Nihilist runs the music and most of the backdrop usually entails a broad mix of wide-ranging Ambience, early Trance, some more House-y or Garage-y stuff, German, French, Irish, Scots, London, Eastern Europe, USA/UK/CAN, East African, Latin, anything and everything - even fucking Mongolian (which is very, very good)! And then Folk, Jazz, Blues, etc. etc. And recent re-interpretations and derivatives thereof, of all the the above genres. And on and on and on. It's been - and still is, ongoingly - profound.
Anyway, we came across
Hania Rani from Poland a few weeks ago and are increasingly warming to - and appreciating - her contributions to this Universe.
A talented pianist - and much, much more - this is her latest offering from about 10 months ago.
She composed it, produced it, directed it, performed it, wrote it, sang it. Made it. Did it. It's her.
And it's all captured in a stark, school-hall, ascetic-style, artsy black and white video.
I/we think she's quite spectacular - and well worth a good hearing.
So, do yourselves a favour on a Sunday afternoon.
Stop what you're doing. Settle down for 25 mins.
Take a break. Take less than a half hour for you.
Turn up the volume. Watch the video.
Take your time. It's progressive.
Well worth a proper listen.
And watch the video too.
She's 31 years old.
A rare talent.
Please.
Enjoy.
(Edit: Sorry, should have made it clear. It's a live performance. Hand-held camera. It's really good. Certainly worth 25 minutes.)
And, remember, be nice to each other peeps.
