Have you had your [s]microchip[/s] vaccine yet?

Got vaccines coming out my ears

Had my first one in January as a volunteer at the vaccination centre. Received a letter yesterday inviting me to book my second, and also had a text from my GP asking me to book. I don't know if the GP is aware I've had the first, but they should as all communications include my NHS number.
This is good to hear as I wasn't sure whether blagging the first vaccine ahead of time (also as a volunteer) put you in the queue for the second.

Not sure they are keeping a central database of vaccinated people or if the various path to getting it are communicating efficiently.

Not over-worried about multiple invitations, what will be difficult will be people slipping through the net ...

A couple of weeks ago, a chap over 70 we know was still waiting for his jab invitation. We told him to contact his GP directly. No more news as to the more recent progress.

I know a few people are reporting some flu like symptoms for a day or two afterwards but have there been any comments about temporary dead arms or small scarring? I'm just trying to choose which arm will be best.

You're not going to get any scarring unless it goes a bit wrong and you get an infection at the injection site which is highly unlikely. Nor should you get any dead arm at all.

I did. My arm was also so sore I could barely move it for two days. Hot and itchy at the vaccine site too. I expected this and it’a a small price to pay like. Teaboy I asked them to do it in my left arm as I am right handed.

OK, a sore arm is something different I'd say. I was thinking dead arm to mean a loss of sensation, and not moving an arm as it's painful is also different to being unable to move your arm due to loss of motor function if you get my drift.

Ah, you had itchiness too. This is the first vaccine since BCG that involved any itchiness for me.

I had my Pfizer jab yesterday at the Paxton Green Surgery, near Crystal Palace. I wasn't expecting an invitation so soon, because I'm group 7, with no medical problems. Very well-organised, lots of helpers directing people, and a short 15 minute queue outside. Some swelling and soreness at jab site, peaked last evening, and subsiding now.

I must say that I felt an unexpected great whoosh of relief when that needle went in.

Dramatic symptoms which I assume you have now reported...?
I found the "output end" of that system earlier and basically they conclude that any fever past a couple of days points to underlying issues ...

I certainly have an unusual experience generally with viral infection so may well be an outlier.

I seem to be doing OK so far on the 5th day, but got anxious as I cooled down from slighly feverish and have gone back to bed to pre-empt the chills - though I am also feeling a bit weak..

I was itchy all over the last two night so much so I had real trouble getting to sleep, not connecting it to the vaccine though.
It seems not. I phoned my GP to tell them I'd already had it and they had no idea

The doctor who did mine said to the member of admin staff who was logging the jabs on the computer that he'd do them in the left arm unless he said otherwise. I said that's sensible given most are right handed, but he said it was just because he was stood at the left of the chair due to the set-up. I handed him a good narrative on a plate and he ignored it. :(

Anyway, don't forget to vote people here.

Or planetgeli will be mad with you.

'Liked' with my suitable angry face.

You wouldn't like me when I'm nice.

So far so fine. I decided to be as normal as possible after so as not to focus on every little sensation. So I went to the shop on my way home and have now had some lovely pink wine, made a rather delicious puy lentil/ leek/ chicken broth thing which was for dinner, and also for if /when I’m laid low with a fever. And just finished painting the ceiling. Was Oxford.
