Have you had your [s]microchip[/s] vaccine yet?

Does anyone know the minimum gap between doses of the Oxford? I’m due my second on 1st April and want to see if I can make that sooner as having neurosurgery on 23rd March. Ta.

I believe it’s 3 weeks; I don’t think shorter gaps than that have been tested, plus it’s generally thought that it takes about 3 weeks for the first dose immune response to do its stuff.

Are all the invites for vaccines going through GPs? It has occurred to me that I never bothered registering with a new GP when I moved house.

I imagine it might vary depending on where you are. I got a text message with a link to book, and think others have mentioned receiving letters.

Since you therefore didn't de-register from your old one, presumably they would have your records and be in charge of contacting you - but if they never had your phone number I'm guessing the system would rely on mailing the address they have on their books ...

Alright, cheers. I might as well give them a shout and make sure their records are up to date. Probably not a good time to start changing my GP.

Out of the blue had a text yesterday from the GP asking me to book, rang them and I got jabbed yesterday afternoon! No stickers or lollipops or even biscuits but I did have a nice chat with the lady from the airforce who was giving me the jab as she's also from up North originally.

I had the AZ jab and I felt dog rough in the night, shivers and sweating and feel a bit like I've been run over today but it's doing it thing.

My invitation was a text from my GP. I guess it depends. I'd get registered if I was you.

I am struggling to find a list of the specific mental illnesses, does anyone have a link or is it based on the GP?
There doesn't appear to be a specific list, the official site (link in current BBC story) just says severe mental illness.

It also appears as if GPs are expected to do an individual risk assessment of every patient who might meet the criteria, where things like mental illness will be a trigger, but won't automatically mean a recommendation to shield.

It's all a bit unclear, TBH.

I am chuffed to bits - was ferrying high risk clients back and forth to the vaccination centre today and was offered my second shot of Pfizer on the spot. I quickly accepted and dropped my trousers. Was a bit embarrassing that I’d forgotten that they give it in the arm but it all worked out in the end.

(I really did get my second jab though AND I got a sticker 😀 - my 2 doses ended up being 4.5 weeks apart. I am grateful for MAXVAX and will be starting to lick ATM’s next week)

Got an invitation link, confirmation & reminder, all by text.

In and out (actually a few minutes early) in well less than 10 minutes.
[Oxford - Astra-Zeneca]
No sign of better signal reception on the way home, didn't feel much at all at the time, now a slightly sore arm a couple of hours later.
Nor is the home network any better.

I just got the vaccine text. Much earlier than I expected and I'm a bit nervous as I've heard anecdotally that you are likely to have worse side effects if you've had Covid, especially if you've had it recently. Did anyone experience this?

Even bad side effects are just a few days (at most) of feeling off, and most people don't have any. Just get it done.

E2A: Sorry if that seemed sharp, I'd just come in from giving vaccines! You'll be reet Oula - go for it!

Got vaccines coming out my ears

Had my first one in January as a volunteer at the vaccination centre. Received a letter yesterday inviting me to book my second, and also had a text from my GP asking me to book. I don't know if the GP is aware I've had the first, but they should as all communications include my NHS number.
