I'm going to be in a right state on Thursday, I have such a bad needle phobia I am probably going to be going in there shaking, hope I don't throw up or faint.
I had a severe injection phobia since childhood vaccinations and was dreading this jab, but it was fine. I have only had one vaccination in the last 60 years, and that was 35 years ago.
But now I will be ok with jabs and will have the flu jab next winter.

Yeah thanks for the kind words but I don't think any of you have any idea how severe my phobia is, I am more likely to be at risk of passing out or throwing up or having a massive panic attack on the bus on the way there or while waiting, it's a bit more complex than just being a bit  about injections. I will have to have someone accompany me in case I need assistance on the way there.

Non of those are as bad as not being able to breathe and possibly dying. :(

Hope you get it done and aren't too bad.

No need to make that point to me, I cried with happiness when I got the text telling me to book a slot. :D  I want this over. Also if I can go get a vaccination when I am told to even though it's a real struggle, then no-one who doesn't have a physical health reason to not get one done has any fucking excuse IMO!

I had to lie down getting vaccinated once, I expect they've only got chairs at the leisure centre but I'll warn the nurse that I might keel over, fingers crossed that won't happen.

They probably will have some suitable facilities.

One of my classmates fainted when he had the TB pin prick test. :(

I think it might have been that pin prick test that triggered my lifelong issues with needles (and medical stuff generally) tbh, do they still do those? Back when I had it done the device they used for it looked positively medieval.

Don't think they do them anymore. Yes it did look like some sort of torture implement.

My GP sent me a text yesterday saying I'm now eligible for my vaccination, and if I haven't had my first one I could go to the local hospital walk in clinic. I guess they're sending out mass texts without checking who has had it already. Waiting for the invite to book my second jab - I'll drop them a line as the text wasn't entirely clear whether they were talking about the second one.

had ours done last week end - 2nd dose in June. I was offered a couple of weeks ago but waited for the girlf to be offered a jab too

Went to LJ pharmacy which was very good the staff were great. I was afraid to wait inside (its been so long since I've been near people indoors I've forgotten how to do it) but they let me wait outside till it was my turn. They were very careful and reassuring.

AZ vaccine - we both feel like we have flu now.

Hope you both feel better soon! (my OH had that one and was ill for about 36 hours after the first shot - nothing life-threatening, just very unpleasant).

You feel like you have flu days after the vaccine at the weekend?
