Had the AZ Oxford one yesterday. At a Sikh temple - second largest in UK apparently. As others said very well organised and slick. Had to wait 15 minutes as I was driving, people not driving didn’t have to wait. Arm a bit sore, feel a bit meh, but not ill...

Eta: one day on feeling a bit tired and shit.

I got a text last week. Booked my vaccine for tomorrow afternoon. Just went to NHS website to check the details, and it's telling me I missed the appointment and have to book again . Gonna turn up tomorrow anyway.

I've no end of problems with that bloody website, the first week or so it thought I had already had one jab, but couldn't find it on my vaccination record, so didn't know which one I should have for my second jab, I couldn't get any further with it, so I phoned three times and they promised call backs that never happened.

Then it decided I wasn't elidable yet, despite being over 55, I didn't bother phone as that's clearly a waste of time. I've just checked it now, and it says I've missed my appointment, so need to book again.

Anyway, I was able to book with my GP surgery this morning, so a short walk instead of a 25 mile round trip, for my first G5 upgrade jab on Saturday morning.

What's a G5 upgrade jab?

You thought you had had a first jab but wasn't sure? :hmm:

Had my first jab yesterday in the echoing hall of an otherwise deserted shopping centre. Everyone there did a good job of appearing genuinely happy that I'd turned up. Today I feel rough.

The people at the testing centre are very good at pretending to be happy to see you even though they must be utterly sick of people by now.

So I went along today. It turns out when I booked it, I didn't confirm it. But they jabbed me anyway.

I found it quite moving. It was at Selhurst Park. There were Crystal Palace stewards, volunteers, St John Ambulance and NHS staff all working together.

Only just had it, no side effects so far.

Stick a yes on the poll ta. Glad they still jabbed you (though I thought they would)

The poll at the top of this page that is.

Here in Brazil they've run out already...I'm wondering how to go about getting mine.

"A man surprised pedestrians in downtown Rio de Janeiro by climbing completely naked on a statue in Praça XV this afternoon, stating that he would only leave the site after being vaccinated against the covid-19. After spending some time on the horse in the monument of General Osório, he was eventually detained by military police, who were in the vicinity and were the first to respond to the incident"

this chap made a good effort yesterday, I don't know if he was successful.

That's really good to read!! :)

Keep us posted. I hope you get off lightly

I think there's a time limit to edit the poll which has passed. In truth I can't be bothered to check because this one has caused me such agro. I'm joking.

What I do think is I trust the NHS not to fuck this up so people will all get their second jab, and in a timeframe broadly similar making a poll unnecessary. I'm waiting 7 weeks, some people may wait 11-12, TopCat got his in 11 days because he's a fool (luv ya TC!). But I think it'll happen largely as this has. And if it doesn't, people won't be shy about posting their ire.

Enjoy your club of one while it lasts. (Actually there's definitely others who've been jabbed twice. kalidarkone springs to mind for one).
If I go today it will be the third jab but public health England said discount the second jab and get the third. However previous GP rang me and got all shirty as they had been notified.
I don’t know if St Thomas’s are giving Pfizer or Oxford Zenica also. I need the former. Ho hum.

Good luck, third time lucky and all that.

At last the no votes are starting to come down a bit. Maybe we'll have a few more today. Still reluctant to c and p the no list into a post to call people out as I'm sure I'll get 80+ people screaming at me "No I HAVEN'T".

Can't see any names on that list who I know have been jabbed. andysays maybe? I think he was due soon, can't remember.
Thanks for the reminder, mine's due next Friday afternoon.

Maybe you could remind me again on the day about midday in case I forget... ;)
