Gordon Brown throws stones but lives in a glasshouse

Gordon Brown questions Brexit Party donations:

Calling Farage "a man of the PayPal", why don't campaigners stick to positive messages instead of mudslinging, whatever your politics I'm fed up with people just critising each other instead of fixing the country's problems. Labour accepts PayPal donations using false details, yep I donated as the corrupt leader of Venezuela!

The stupidity of this attempt to attack the Brexit Party by reporting them to the Electoral Commission is absolutely astounding. Two days before an election, they want to send inspectors into the BP offices and investigate their finances.

What is the effect of that? More wall to wall coverage of Farage and the Brexit Party. How will that do anything other than push the Brexit Party vote up even higher?

It's the same daft tactics as the Democrats banging on about Russia and the Remainers banging on about the funding for Leave.eu or whatever. Who do they honestly think will be put off voting for Trump, Farage, or whoever else with allegations that they've broken the rules?

"Brown said the European parliament should be investigating the disclosures last week that Farage had received about £450,000 in financial support from Arron Banks, the Eurosceptic businessman who funded Farage’s Leave.EU Brexit campaign during the 2016 referendum. That could be a clear conflict of interest with Farage’s duties as an MEP, he added."

Electoral Commission to visit Brexit party offices over funding concerns

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Farage has no intention of carrying out any duties as an MEP. That's the whole sodding point of his campaign.

Good on ya! That'll teach 'em!
If there's any more of this underhandedness, will you be setting up a direct debit?

One would hope that before making the accusation, Brown had checked that whatever Labour's PayPal arrangements are, they comply with the relevant legislation. Simply pointing out that Labour accept donations on their site doesn't prove a thing - it's about the way that money is accounted for and reported on.

I had to laugh when earlier this year one of the gaffers at work said Brown was a communist and should be hung.
