Live itv debate feedback

Watched the begining, had to turn off when they started talking about immigration, as that would annoy me too much. Sunak just kept repeating that he had a clear plan (he didn't say what it was), and that Labour would raise taxes by £2,000 (not true). Starmer should have been better given the tories woeful 14 year record.
Sunak said impartial treasury civil servants costed it at £2K

Letter from treasury says 'No we didn't'.

I thought they were both awful, but Starmer marginally better at answering questions rather than repeating sound bites. And then read the commentary to find out that constantly banging out a message like that is apparently 'winning' so clearly I know nothing. Pointless exercise, dreading the next ones.

Im sure it was an amazing bought...heavyweight business

I caught a few minutes of the exchange between Itchi Klootzak and Sir Kid Starver and that was enough for me. I learned absolutely nothing from the experience.

More seriously, why wasn't Shammer prepped to say something about rat-boy's £2k tax claims?
Labour probably foolishly didn’t assume tories would outright lie

These debates mean it’s all about the soundbite to cut through. Doesn’t have to be a true soundbite, tell a dirty lie, by the time it’s refuted all you remember is £2k tax for families (eg Trump saying “because you’d be in prison to Hilary Clinton”). We all remember that and not whatever points HC made in the debate.
