My thought is they are someone who has had kids taken off them by social services - and we do know sometimes the authorities get it wrong.
But in the case referred to in this thread, if social services had been able to remove the child, it might still be alive.

Terminology matters. Someone calling child abuse materials "child porn", is both trivialising child sex abuse (and the recording of it) and corrupting porn, which (some may differ), does at least encompass legitimate expressions of sexual activity.

It's why I prefer the term "child sexual abuse" over things like "paedophilia", because the former describes exactly what is happening, rather than smudging it out into a phenomenon.

Also, there is a strong correlation between those who view child sexual abuse materials, and those who go on to commit child sexual abuse. It makes complete sense to refer to them in that way.

I don't think anyone's instantly start launching a flames-and-pitchforks attack against the term "child porn" any time soon, though.

Unfortunately, on 14 March 2024, it was claimed that the prosecution was "about to collapse, when , when anyone who had been following this ongoing criminal trial (or anyone who is capable of searching the internet for reports on it) would already have been aware that the case for the prosecution had closed two weeks earlier at the end of February (2024).

Far from being "about to collapse" on 14 March 2024, the prosecution of the two defendants continued at the Old Bailey today with one of the defendants continuing to be cross-examined.
