Glastonbury 2022

does somewhat suggest he doesnt actually play anything on stage then!

Haha it does, I guess we have to trust that he was playing the keyboards behind the big screens that revealed him later in the set!

He was definitely live playing the smaller set later.

(I speak as someone who fake plugged in 808 States keyboards in Dublin c. 1990 so I know they do it). :D

i havent had a chance to watch any coverage yet (oh the FOMO!) - will do though eventually - but re Paul McCartney it does sound a lot like another televised set of his i saw a year or two back - most of which I had no idea what the songs were (have never listened to wings never mind his solo stuff)....BUT shit as that was something i found out after watching that 9 hour Beatles documentary recently was that since the Beatles split up Paul has made 50 albums in 50 years - that is a shit lot of music, and all of it more recent than the Beatles....I can understand why he would want to do that material even if most people dont like it/have never heard it.

That said a straight Beatles set on this one occasion wouldve gone down in legend- bit selfish of him really ;)
p.S> Hey Jude is crap

I quite enjoyed watching Kendrick Lemar.

It was even more entertaining with the subtitles

Yeh, I know nothing about this guy, except he's an exceptional performer but he spent a fair bit of time ranting about bitches and going down on him etc etc then for his final thing went on a feminist tip about empowering women. Weird.

But. Brilliant performance regardless. Hugely detailed choreography and his mastery of his verse was unbelievable.

Enjoying Jarv Is.

Lots of swearing
When he started that song that appeared to go "Fucking, fuck fuck is fucked" my 10 year old looked at me in alarm and said "Dad, it's my bedtime" and left the room.

So, I now know how to get her to go to bed on time

For me the highlight of the TV coverage has been The Avalanches. I watched it with my jaw on the floor, they were so awesome.

He's fucking brilliant, looking forward to watching his whole set from the beginning as soon as time permits.

This was one of the best, if not the best thing I've ever seen at Glastonbury. I knew nothing about him and am not majorly into rap. His rapping and the choreography (which I'm now informed was a walk through his own psychology) was utterly brilliant.

Still a long way behind but hopefully the stuff stays on iplayer for a while - am enjoying Robert Plant while I do bits and pieces :)

Glasto performances are available for 30 days, I think if you download them even towards the end of that 30 days, the clock starts again, i.e. you have 30 days to watch them after you have downloaded them, after which the iplayer downloader deletes them.

Unless you do what I am doing, download with 'get_iplayer', that converts them to mp4 files and stripes out the DRM (digital rights management), so you get to keep them forever.
,
I am busy downloading that way via my laptop, then copy the files onto a portable external hard drive, that plugs into the TV for playback, I've grabbed over 80Ghz so far, that's over 36 hours. :)

I’m watching now, you can see him through the screen playing in the back at a few points.

I wonder if the front keyboard that was taken off before they lifted the screen was fucked or something? :hmm:

Still a good set though
