Glastonbury 2022

Yes. I watched Plant and Krauss on the television last night. Thought it was atmospheric and creative, and the whole line up sweated musicianship. What I liked was that it wasn’t simply Zeppelin crowd pleasing covers, but an uncompromising presentation of lovely music performed with affection and skill.
I love Led Zep by the way.
The album's great as well.. Sorry I missed this!

I've never been but every year I watch a bit. Billie Eilish and her bro have been a joy to watch.

My (lovely) neighbours borrowed their parents motor home and went to Glastonbury.
I think I might go again if I had a really good set up - with a shower etc.

As danny la rouge pointed out earlier, it can be difficult as one gets older and has health and mobility issues. Glastonbury is great but hard work and not always relaxing.

I really enjoyed watching it on TV and not having to worry about basics such as toileting and food.....but at the same time I am missing the opportunity to just wander with out a plan and see what happens.
2019 I hired out a massive RV of some bloke off facebook, shower, cooker, the works.

One of the reasons for not going this year is not having a vehicle, I don't think I could camp again.

I'm sat here in front of the van, after a good night's sleep in a double bed, a hot shower, and a full set of clean, dry clothes. Just cooked up bacon and sausage, and enjoying a beer from the fridge. Tunes on the bluetooth speaker. Here with the rest of my gang in their vans, which we've parked together. Fuck tents!

Last time I went I was so tired by the end of it that I burst into tears thinking about the death of Socrates when I got home. I'd watched a programme about it and it hit me as I opened the fridge door. So sad. :(
Following Glasto- 2019- I post operatively recovered a few youngsters that had wash out and drainage of a big infected abcess- partially due to burning the candle at both ends and partying. One young woman....woke up really upset - which is common after a General Anaesthetic but also the crash after having an amazing time.

I had to rock her and stroke her head when she came round 😄 the male older anaesthetist doctors didn't really know what to do....they seemed embarrassed

I really don't understand what anyone gets out of Billy Eillish. So fucking dull. Not a single pop classic or even memorable tune.

28 years was my last tilt at Glastonbury, hitched there, climbed the wall, found uni mates without a mobile phone
Lost my mind to orbital and the Sunday night search for final hurrah stimulants while dodging hoards of rip off robbing scallies in various nefarious dark areas

Boomtown got my attention years later, only festival to tickle the required anarchy and oblivion philosophy

Confidence Man were excellent. The second they walked on stage in their stupid great big suits they won me over. They put on a great show - the choreography (vogueing!), the costumes (I proper laughed when she came back on in that dress with the flashing conical breasts) and the early 90s dance pop vibes of the music (piano house!).

After watching Jesus & Mary Chain (who were much lower energy than when i saw them 30 years ago) and good but more low energy performances from Khruangbin and Green Tea Peng they were the highlight of Friday's TV coverage.
Khruangbin are dull as fuck live. I really think they would only work in a small venue of a few hundred or as an afternoon chilled set at a festival. Definitely not Friday night material.... They're not even Tuesday night material when I saw them which is a shame as I do like them recorded.

It’s nice and atmospheric but yeah just noodly trundling

The act on West holts now is pretty interesting. Yves something? It looks like Yves Tumor on his backdrop? Good mush mash of styles. I think Prince would've been like this if he was at his height in the 21st century.

Yeah enjoying Squid.

Yesterday had some great stuff on, as already said, TLC, Confidence Man, IDLES (brilliant).

I thought Billie Eilish was very good, some real highlights but found it overall a little bit downtempo for a headliner. She was definitely enjoying it, I always think it's funny seeing the big Yank artists having that dawn of realisation that this isn't some parish fete but quite a big fucking deal actually. (Apart from Kanye, but he's Kanye, nothing impresses Kanye except Kanye).

My 9 year old stayed up to watch it and she loved every fucking second of it of course. :D She was also absolutely blown away by IDLES mosh pit, she had no idea what people got up to at rock gigs. :D

Gonna watch Primal Scream replay now as I have fulfilled my obligation as a middle aged man to comment on Billie Eilish's performance last night.

Bloody hell, there's not much of the original line up left I just realised...

eta: The line up is a fucking family tree!
