I've never paid to go to Glasto, never will, it's just too expensive, but if I can get in free somehow then I'm up for it for sure! :)

just remembered I've been tasked with making the arrangments to get my crew back in on one working blag or another for glasto this year... not quite sure how yet*, but I think it's just time to give it another shot.

*anyone needing a load of reliable, experienced festie crew for some glasto role give me a shout;)

are you going to come camp with us again? :)
Although I have to confess I haven't asked them if they're coming, Im just assuming...

Would love to go back to Glasto again but the stories I hear about the searches on the gate to/from the campervan field means we probably won't bother..
Seems very unfair that people in live-ins are subjected to the searches/confiscations on a random basis..if its wet, readyrolls are very important!!
Shame, 2010 would be my 20th annaversary of first going and the piccies of the new areas like shangri-la look stunning (if a little heavy on the carbon:D)

I will be going to this one. Glasto number 5 for me and number 1 for my daughter! Although I suspect it will be a very different experience for me with her there. But, she will be 7 by then and a perfect age for it. Better than taking her to Disneyland in any case ;)

Well unless Eavis persudes the full Genesis line-up to reform and play The Return of the Giant Hogweed (etc.) I don't think I shall be there..

Main other relevant bit of that link is the ticket buying time/date -- 9 am on Sunday 4th October!

So glad we ll be working, getting our £££s together for tix by that date would be real push at the moment :(

£195? I was in doubt about going, but thats made my mind up for sure.

For that money i can buy tickets to 2 other festivals

£195 is a lot :hmm:

Really fucking hope I get the same gig as this year's festival, although I'm pretty sure we don't find out until well into next year  :(

It's pricing a lot of people out.

I think most Glastofarians would agree the best bits of the festival are the ones that cost little to put on i.e. the stone circle.

It's too much money.

They really need to scale back a bit IMO.

I sympathise with your reaction, and yes it is a lot**, but of all years the 40th anniversary year (2010) is never going to be the year they'll scale down ....

**ETA : payable after an initial deposit though, as Tort reminds us, so not all at once.

Why? £50 deposit in early Oct & then you don't have to worry about paying the rest until 2 months after Christmas. One of Glastonbury's better initiatives imho.

Oh yes the deposit thing :).

I agree with you, that was definitely a good initiative. Had for now forgotten about it though :o

<retires ungracefully :p >

I don't think I'd agree with that at all.

I tend to like the smaller parts of the festival admittedly, but they cost money to put on - things like the 'backstreets' in Arcadia this year were fantastic, but obviously none too cheap to create. It's a hugely deep bill of entertainment

Shorn of its more illegal elements the Stone Circle's overfilled with jugglers and bongo players <shudder>. A

glasto will supply the quality and entertainment of 4 other festivals tho imo.

I agree that its a bit steep, ill be trying to get tix tho as there is no alternative festival to glasto, failing that ill be applying to work it in any shape or form again....

at 200 smackeroonies, eavis soon has to have some way of a sunshine guarantee...... feck, it is a flip up between glasto or a fortnight abroad...
glasto is still winning. :)
