Four people stabbed in Manchester shopping centre as man, 40, arrested

A shopping centre in Manchester has been shut down after five people were stabbed inside. Footage from outside the Manchester Arndale, shared on social media, showed a man being tasered on the ground by police outside the building. Greater Manchester Police have since confirmed that five people were knifed in the attack and have now been taken to hospital. A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of serious assault. An investigation is being led by Counter Terrorism Police North West and officers are ‘keeping an open mind’ about the motive, a GMP spokesperson said.
