Filth by name. . .

This is completely awful:

What is even worse is he seems to have deceived the woman, simply because he could:

View attachment 390472

Sounds like he was at best a sociopath who got a thrill out of deceiving her and her family.

Cunt.
Rough timeline from article:

  • 2001: Undercover officer began pursuing 'Mary’ and established relationship with her
  • 2006: Undercover officer leaves West Midlands Police & transfers to Avon & Somerset Constabulary
  • 2013: Undercover officer leaves police
  • (by) 2013: Senior officers in ASC “discovered that one of their officers had been using his undercover identity to deceive a woman into a relationship for many years, and that she had given birth to his child”
  • 2016: ASC referred the matter to the Undercover Policing Inquiry
  • 2019: Undercover officer proposes to ‘Mary’ and they become engaged to be married
  • August 2020: ASC officers tell ‘Mary’ her husband-to-be had been using a fake undercover police legend for the entirety of their 19 year-long relationship
  • until September 2023: ASC does everything it can to maintain the silence of ‘Mary’ and her family

As you can see, there are a lot of gaps and many unanswered questions. The article alleges ASC police, in the period between telling ‘Mary’ in 2020 and it coming out now, “cautioned that hardened criminals who were infiltrated by the undercover officer many years ago could seek retribution by harming Mary and her son”... Are they suggesting the officer used the same false identity both for his ‘legitimate’ undercover work against ‘hardened criminals’, and in his personal deception operation against ‘Mary’? What sort of work ID did he have and use, what sort of audit trail is there? Were no warning systems in ASC or the Home Office triggered by, for example, a false passport being used far beyond its legitimate lifetime? No collection of supporting documents at the end of deployment?

wtaf!?

Senior police, they say, warned them that if the public were to become aware of the 19-year relationship the revelation could spark riots. However, Mary’s family now believe this and other warnings were used to co-opt them into a “cover-up” of the scandal.

Mary’s sister said the family believe that Avon and Somerset police “want to protect themselves at all cost”. “They’re supposed to serve and protect,” she said. “I don’t believe they will protect you, I believe they will protect themselves. They’re using us and making us cover for them for their failings. They are trying to silence us.”

This is just staggering, quite frankly, not just that a woman was deceived into a 19 year relationship with this man but also had a child with him, and that his employers knew and allowed it to continue for at least another seven years. Then coerced her family into keeping quiet about it for another three years.

I just don't have the words to accurately describe the havoc he has wrought to this woman, their child and her wider family.

How many more deceptive relationships like this will be unearthed and why isn't this type of manipulation a crime? It's an abuse of power, at the very least.

The interview with the former head of diversity and inclusion for West Midlands Police in the same program segment was, if anything, even more shocking. When asked if he'd have confidence in the Police if he dialed 999, he stated that he probably wouldn't call 999 in the first place.

7 September 2023: The Metropolitan Police's PC Cliff Mitchell - who is attached to their West Area Basic Command Unit - is charged with six counts of rape, one count of making threats to kill and one count of breaching a non-molestation order.

This follows an investigation yesterday where a woman who was found distressed on the streets of Hackbridge told police officers that she had been attacked inside a house and forced into a car.:

I mean I have some sympathy, but didn't she know what the police stand for before she signed up - rapey spy cops, a war on drugs that disproportionately targets ethnic minorities, standing up for capitalists, etc. Does discrimination only matter when it happens to you?

Yeah I listened to that on Channel 4 last night and was going to post something, it was absolutely shocking (from someone that isn't that shockable tbh)>

It doesn't sound like you watched the program. It wasn't discrimination against herself that she was exposing, but rather sexism and racism towards members of the public. By your logic, only bad eggs need join. She's surely quite brave to take on the organisation and expose the levels of discrimination?

I watched a bit, and, don't get me wrong, bits like a having a female officer wear safety armour designed for a man are shocking in themselves. I thought one of the big issues is the institutional nature of the problems. It's not just bad apples. It's horrific ideas that must have been signed off at a higher level (allowing intimate relationships to garner info on environmentalists, etc), or the following of govt policy - battering protestors, the war on drugs, etc. This isn't the police gone wrong - this is exactly how they are meant to work. If you sign up to the police, presumably you think this is okay.

1 September 2023: Home Secretary Suella Braverman: Woke police are damaging public trust

5 September 2023: A former Lincolnshire police officer, PC Shaun Wheeler, who had sex with a woman he met after she reported being a victim of domestic violence is imprisoned for his "appalling abuse of power".

PC Shaun Wheeler sent more than 3,000 messages to the woman and struck up an intimate relationship with her.

Nottingham Crown Court heard the pair had sex when PC Shaun Wheeler went to her home address while on duty to take a police statement.

PC Shaun Wheeler admitted misconduct in a public office and was jailed for 20 months:

Following sentencing, Deputy Chief Constable of Lincolnshire Police, Julia Debenham, said: “Shaun Wheeler’s actions go against everything the police service stands for. He is a disgrace to the uniform."

With regards to wrongly fitting PPE, that's not an issue restricted to the police. I've worked in engineering firms where men act surprised that women have to special order in the basics like safety boots and overalls. Even basic standard sizes aren't kept on site often. A woman can't always pop to a site that afternoon if they have to wait a day or so for their kit to be shipped from the wholesaler.

Also, women's OPE is still designed in many cases according to a man's body shape and height, so it's a complete guess with some manufacturers whether or not the overalls in your usual size are actually going to fit.

I can sympathise with women police officers on the PPE issue because illfitting safety kit can be uncomfortable if not downright dangerous.

Is it me or is there a lot of misuse of the police computer systems?

Hundreds of times. What the actual f!ck.

What is the police doing to stamp out stalking and misuse of computer systems within the ranks?

...

I can’t imagine that the audit trail isn’t covered in training so we should rule ignorance. So either stupidity or arrogance? Or perhaps some sort of emotional hotheadedness. Or just human nature, curiousity?

Either way, a user having access to a lot of confidential data means that restraint is needed on the part of the user.

One wonders just what sort of thing it is that "damaging public trust" in the police?:

UK parliament’s elite police unit received hundreds of complaints – POLITICO

The unit is only 1000 strong so that's quite an impressive number of complaints.

Five former Metropolitan Police officers have admitted sending racist messages on WhatsApp.

The officers pleaded guilty to sending grossly offensive racist messages, including about the Duchess of Sussex, at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

The officers retired from the force between 2001 to 2015.

They served in various parts of the Met but all spent time in the former Diplomatic Protection Group.

The ex-Metropolitan Police officers are:

Peter Booth, 66, of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, who pleaded guilty to four counts of sending by public communication grossly offensive racist messages. He retired from the Met in April 2001.

Robert Lewis, 62, of Camberley, Surrey. He admitted eight counts of the same offence. He retired from the Met in May 2015 and became a Home Office official before he was dismissed for gross misconduct last November, according to the government department.

Anthony Elsom, 67, of Bournemouth, Dorset, who pleaded guilty to three counts. He retired from the Met in May 2012.

Alan Hall, 65, of Stowmarket, Suffolk, also entered guilty pleas to three counts. He retired from the Met in June 2015.

Trevor Lewton, 65, of Swansea, South Wales, pleaded guilty to one count. He retired from the Met in August 2009.

PC Clifford Mitchell of Toland Square in Putney, who is attached to the Metropolitan Police's West Area Basic Command Unit, and who has now been suspended, appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court today but did not enter a plea.

District judge Briony Clarke sent the case to Croydon Crown Court on 5 October 2023.

A woman has claimed she was drugged and raped while in custody and has accused Greater Manchester Police of covering up the alleged attack.

CCTV footage obtained by the alleged victim Zayna Iman, 38, showed her being stripped and left topless face down in a cell for hours:

'Stripped and left topless in a cell, I was drugged and sexually assaulted by Greater Manchester Police'

Earlier today, Dame Vera Baird, chair of an inquiry into Greater Manchester Police, joined Kay Burley of Sky News to discuss the investigation into the force over unnecessary and invasive strip searches of women while under police custody:

Britain’s new policing shame revealed: Accused of crimes against women – but still working - Independent

Three-quarters of police officers and staff accused of violence against women are not suspended by their force despite the allegations against them, shocking new figures show.

In the Metropolitan Police (...) just 12 per cent of officers and staff are being suspended from duties after being accused of crimes such as sexual assault and domestic violence. (...)

Data from 26 police forces shows that 1,124 police officers and staff were accused during this period, while just 269 were suspended. But the number of accusations is expected to be far higher, as not all of the 43 police forces responded to the request for information. The figures also reveal a huge nationwide disparity in how forces respond, with Wiltshire Police suspending 83 per cent of those under investigation while Surrey Police only suspended 10 per cent.
