A Metropolitan Police sergeant resigned after poking a female colleague’s bottom with a vape pen and subjecting her to a barrage of sexually charged remarks.
Former Sergeant Ian Bargus of Metropolitan Police East Area Command Unit was also found to have mimicked the PC’s accent, asked if she had “overstayed” in the UK, and suggested her degree from Romania was “equivalent to toilet paper”.
It was alleged that between 6 May 2020 and 30 September 2020, former Sergeant Ian Bargus behaved in a way that was offensive, discriminatory and inappropriate to a junior colleague.
A misconduct panel concluded that the allegations against former Sergeant Ian Bargus were proven, and if still serving he would have been sacked:
Metropolitan Police Sergeant poked colleague in bottom with vape and told her 'not to wear tight trousers'
