F1 2016

I'm just hoping for more competition next season.
Next year is likely to be very different, all new cars, faster, wider with very different tyres and down-force more important than power-units.

Its going to be a very interesting season, I hope

F1 for me is far more than just cars going around a track

F1 is on its arse anyway, it doesn't need another few seasons of one dominant team.
Or at least, for me, it would nice to have a bit of honesty and have someone with F1 actually say "this is a bit shit" (or words to that effect) rather than appear to just kiss Bernie's antisemitic arse.

think its more capitulation to Mateschitz...

if my car don't win race's i'll pack up my toys and leave...

its on its arse as long as they think the only way to appeal to younger fans is to be shilling tins of fucking red bull

:hmm:

Interesting that all the racing drivers are saying Lewis tactics were what they would have done, they are correct in my view.
The team is for the team the driver is for the driver, Mercedes wouldn't keep hold of Lewis if he didn't win races

If I were Lewis, and getting any grief from Toto, I would remind him that but for an engine fire, I would have had more than enough points to win another world championship.

:)

tbh, I think Toto has handled things reasonably well considering. I've only seen bits of the post race interviews but he appeared to acknowledge that Lewis going for the drivers championship was in conflict with the teams wish for another Mercedes 1-2 and that they might need to revisit their own rulebook (or rip it up). Fair play to Nico consistent throughout the season (if a bit boring). Still think Lewis deserved to win it based on him being the better driver, but thems da breaks.

Limejuice how is the plumbing or was the plumber watching the race?
We need a new hot water cylinder. A joint on the bottom has corroded and been leaking (apparently) for a while. Today the water must have built up to the point it came through the ceiling below.

The plumber was a nice guy. Came, switched the hot water off, drained the system. He'll bring a new tank and fit it tomorrow if possible. Tuesday latest, even though he'd fully booked this week. (I said I'll pay him cash, so that helps. :) )

Happily, the current Mrs Limejuice insisted on supervising every move, which freed me up for watching the race and suggesting where various taps and valves might be found. I like to help.

So while you'll all be frezzzzing through the winter waiting for testing and the first race in March, I'll be enjoying the summer on the beach with temperatures around 30C and lots of cold beer :p:thumbs: LOL

1. I was disappointed that Lewis waited for the PR moment (the podium) to congratulate Rosberg. He should have been the first to congratulate him whether he meant it or not. Yes they are both competitive people but he seemed such a poor loser in the drivers' room.

2. Did Lewis deserve to win more than Nico. Reliability etc. etc. Sorry Lewis but its sport. You take the good luck if its you so if someone else gets the good luck well thats just sport for you. Luck is part of sport and its fickle.

3. Team orders... The team have to publicly pretend to be pissed but they know the score. Everyone would have done the same as Lewis in his position and if Nico disagrees then quickly remind him of when he parked on the escape road at Monaco in 2014.

Err he did; just after they got out of their cars.

Got to say it gives more credit to the Idea that the German Team wanted a German champion the whole year

Paddy on the radio saying "we need the win". Well, duh, no fucking shit. He was never not going to win. He could have sprinted off into the distance if he wanted to, that wouldn't have won him the championship.

That race just highlighted how much better he was than Nico. If Lewis was so slow why didn't Nico pass him? Oh yeah, because he wouldn't have had a fucking chance.

Yes, I know mechanicals are part of the sport. Nico took the opportunity given to him and as such is a worthy champion. The luck this season was his. But he won't go down in history as one of the sports true greats. Lewis already has.
