F1 2016

Getting back to F1, I wonder how Allison leaving Ferrari will effect them, you can be sure they are well underway with the development of the 2017 car and for sure he would have been the lead on that, so him leaving may well have an effect on next season as well if they don't get someone good in position PDQ

You'd think they'd have resource in depth.

But the demeanour of Vettel suggested they felt let down, although they understood the situation.

With all the changes next year, it's not the time for any slips in the handover. At least whoever steps up gets half a season to get their head around all the changes.

I think there will be more changes before the end of the season, but I really can't understand why they would get rid of someone with so much experience and keep others with all the changes coming, unless they really do have a deal with Brawn

Just a fine for the team. No penalty for Lewis himself.
Probably fair, since his first two reprimands were a bit trivial. It would have been a toughie to get a grid penalty.
I see that from now during qualifying if there are double waved yellows the session will be stopped
If double-waved means people or vehicles on the track, then it's a good idea to stop the driving altogether.

Ant Davidson made a good point when he said that as a driver you'll do the absolute minimum you can conceivably get away with to limbo dance under a penalty. So when the regs say you must be ready to stop, the drivers won't be taking any action that would let that happen.

As I said above it goes against every drivers have learnt their whole career, it is good to see they have changed it from subjective to objective as it takes it out of the drivers hands

There was report on the internal moves at Ferrari (on Sky), but Ross B wasn't mentioned.

Exactly.

Nico felt that a brief lift met the situation, then went on to record a purple sector. Clearly, if anyone or car had been on the track...

Ant Davidson was quite funny. He said you can't trust a driver to behave with discretion. You have to give then a clear instruction.

I didn't read my F1 news today, did they say anything other than Mattia Binotto has moved up temporally?

Brawn is the obvious choice but I'm not sure he wants to come back, but everyone has a price and Ferrari has the money

Just the Binotto move. Nothing at all about Ross B.

ETA: I'm a huge Brawn fan and would love to see him chuck in the fishing rods and get back to what he does brilliantly.

Good morning :)
I have a feeling in the Red Bull garage they will be telling their drivers to stay on the inside so as the Mercedes try to push eachother off the track outside at a very fast first corner they can slip by on the inside and have the right line for the 2nd corner ;)

They're talking about 3 stops being the optimum. That should allow a few permutations for strategy - assuming the main protagonists make it lap 2.
