First ever game of women's football I have ever watched so feel I may have set the bar a little too high now, but that was good fun. Deserved the win overall. Think Bronze was WOTM on balance but the Toone goal was the finest piece of play. Like Russo as well.

I was reading the German press this morning there seems to be a lot of talk about a VAR missed handball. Is there any legitimacy in that? They are of course very upset that Anexandra Popp had to pull out which must have been a blow.

Nevertheless, I am so happy England won something finally and I'm even more happy it was the women that did it. They deserved it, and I hope it ushers in even more interest in the womens game, AND proves that it is actually possible to enjoy football at its finest without riot police having to seperate fans and intervene in stupid xenophobic fights. The culture around the men's game - particularly in England - is an embarrasment. This by contrast is a shining example of how it should be.

It was funny getting the tube home last night, with the train full of loud drunk women celebrating without any of the testosterone fuelled aggressive bullshit that accompanies the men's game. Loved it.
