Got a serious man crush on him
 :D

I once had a blow job off the Mrs after she'd put Sexy Mother Pucker™ Lip Gloss on. It makes your lips swell and pucker up with some sort of tingly whale blubber ingredient. My doorknob welled to such a size she split her top lip trying to keep it in her mouth:facepalm::oops::D

I was a stallion that night until she sneakily put a dab on her finger and touched my starfish with it:mad::facepalm::(:mad::thumbs:
You win the thread :D

BBC pundits missing the point here on the Rooney thing. He wasn't terrible, he's just not as good as Sterling, Sturridge, Lallana or Barkley, and he's got nowhere near the work rate of Welbeck.
Spot on. But he's been given the 'world class' tag and that shalt ne'er be questioned.

When I'm scared I go into a special place inside. A place where it's always safe and clean and nice. Where nothing can hurt me. When the bad man comes I can go to that place and everything's OK.

We aimed nearly all of our corners at him and he didn't connect with one of them. He looked like he'd spat his dummy out from their first goal. He was wank.

Jesus: what the hell happened? We caught the first 30 minutes at a restaurant. England was making more shots on goal than Italy, still 0-0.

Come home with the groceries, and it's Italy 2-1?

think Lineker was hinting at it when he pointed out to Rio that you couldn't put Rooney as a 9 without dropping Sturridge and you couldn't play him at 10 without dropping Sterling. The choice is he plays wide or he doesn't play.

I reckon if you put Rooney on the bench he'd come on and be immense.

It will never happen, though.
Think you're right there.

England were actually better than I expected. I thought we were going to be totally unimaginative and grind out a dull draw. I'm happier that we've lost but played some decent football for a change.

Apart from rooney and glen johnson that was a good performance by england. Italy were very very good and theres probably nobody better at closing the game down and keeping possession. But I think England are def good enough to beat uruguay and costa rica.
I like that hodgson seems to playing to our strengths - letting our collection young pacey skilful attacking minded players off the leash.
Just needs to drop rooney now. Not much he can do about glen johnson.

No, Rooney as no 10. Sterling out wide. Why ever not?

I mean if you think Rooney is able to cut it. He's not a winger. This is what we've done for years.

embarassing the way gary and the rest are scared of criticising rooney too much as if he's untouchable
But you can't criticise his work rate. You just can't. He may have been a total waste of space but you can't criticise his work rate. Because Alan Shearer says so.

Yep!
And I thought Johnson had a good game, even thought he gets a lot of stick.

Johnson?! Really?

He played well. It was Baines who was the weak link the defence if anything.

Shearer was laying into him quite a bit. I think Rio was defending his mate, Lineker was being the anchor, and Henry did criticise him a bit.
you're right shearer was having a bit of a go, but can you imagine if it had been balotelli putting in a perfomance like that? no chance he would have been so restrained. Linekar felt the need to say he was playing devils advocate as if he needs to justify criticising rooney!

My mad prediction was 2-1 to England.

Wrong way round in the end, but I don't think we can say England looked incapable of winning by that score or similar. But fuckit, Italy knew what they were doing with those goals.

Generally, a good, creditable team performance (Rooney aside -- shite) but pressure's on for two wins now. I'm nowhere near optimistic enough.

goldenecitrone has it nailed about too many bloody missed chances.
