Drag Queen Story Times picketed by protestors who claim that it grooms children and promotes paedophilia

I still haven't seen the source for this 'sexualised dancing for babies' event actually existing but if it does, I fail to see how the performers' gender presentation can possibly be the most troubling thing about it.

"Creepily"?

I have certain standards and I believe that the next generation need not be exposed to fetishism from an early age.

You might want to look in the mirror and question your own moral compass, as I can tell you that any one I ask in the pub I'm currently in will think this whole sorry affair some sort of bizarre kink or worse a depravity.
who the fuck are you

let me guess your faith makes you feel excluded and morally affronted by the world atm

i don't give a shite about your biased bullshite

That word. Ugh.
What else is happening there.

Describe what you see and then try to sell it to the World.

Do you think they will see it as anything else?

If it isn't grooming, then what is it? Grown men performing like that in front of babies isn't normal. Are you another apologist?

When the police come knocking, will you have a clear conscious of what is actually going on, as for an outsider, it looks more than dodgy...

My faith? Fuck off. I'm not a religious robot who has been indoctrinated by some ridiculous idea spouted by some fools.

Why am I biased and you are not?

would have more respect if you were a religious zealot

the prick that you are

Breaking down the photos, what are the main concerns?

Is it the use of things like pole dancing? The sexualised connotations of that would go whoosh over the babies heads.

Is it the jokes and innuendo? Same as above.

Is it the near nudity? A large proportion of babies are going to see their parents and siblings fully naked, and in various (much warmer!) places in the world, the attire of certain tribes is not dissimilar.

Is it the makeup? Well drag makeup, bringing out the high contest in faces, is probably quite appealing to babies. ;)

Of course if there’s any question of even vaguely dodgy touching or gyrating in babies’ faces then that would cross firmly into the completely inappropriate camp. But has that been reported?

I'm a teacher. I work with kids. And what I do know is that grooming often and usually starts with adults entrusted in a child's care. We are trained to not give up our guards on this.

(That's safeguarding)

Adults get "groomed" before kids ever do.

(If you ever did teacher training, or worked with the police in child sexual exploitation prevention, you would know this).

We can absolutely talk about whether skin tight, up to the arse leotards on women and girls are at all entirely appropriate (guess my answer)... and yes context is a thing (in gymnastics, judges want to see curves of the spine, etc etc)

We can also ask the question: in a patriarchal society that predates on women girls, where grooming happens mainly between the boundaries between mothers and their children, should it be acceptable for men with their gold balls and footlongs to parade around in front of infants?

You’re a lost cause if you can’t see the difference. Worrying. Quite seriously.

Have you actually looked at that picture? There are hand prints covering her breast and crotch. It's far more sexualised than any outfit I've ever seen a photo of a drag queen wear at a family event. Pretty worrying you think it's okay tbh. You cis-hets, you're so deep into this stuff you can't see what's going on right before your eyes.

Two women paid these performers to entertain the mums, not "groom" the babies.

That word is being used by the far-right to demonise people.

If it gives the mums a much-needed night (well, early evening) out, yeah, why not?

(I don't actually know what gold balls or footlongs are )
