Domestic and European Rugby

So it seems flats and Topsy highlights show is going to be on Wednesday nights, though this week it’s going to be Wednesday lunchtime due to ITV4 showing snooker instead

It’s going to appeal to the TikTok generation apparently - sounds terrible - so my recommendation is to watch the highlights on YouTube

has he gone to sky or somewhere for more money? :(
No, he does a variety of tv channels so it’s not that I think

Impression I get is they are trying to appeal to a younger audience, apparently five live have also replaced a lot of journalists to that end and their content has become quite lightweight and banterheavy and the speculation was ITV were trying the same thing

Does this mean we're going to get loads of near-subliminal clips of tries, celebrations, scrums, fans ... all so fast they hurt the eyeballs? I find those quite painful :(

Really good game - sterling defence work in places.
Bath-Bristol? Yeah, that was fun. Eykyn, O'Driscoll and Flats were all getting very giddy about Janse van Rensberg, although I agreed that the Bristol hooker was excellent too. Shout to Harry Randall too, who was quietly very good.

Good game but disappointing from a Bath perspective.

Yep made a huuuuge difference to the table positions

after 3 games :)

Really enjoying the Womens' W.XV games. England really strong - Dow, Breach and Scarratt are a hell of a back line.

Canada Ireland on at the moment - both did really well in their first matches.

Was this one of the ITV games? Hopefully more of them to come. Think it’s the end of European rugby on the box which is a shame. Not seen any matches this weekend, as been on holiday. Hopefully will catch some of chiefs vs cheats this afternoon though

But nothing like a game being live on terrestrial for engagement of a wider audience
Given the financial position of domestic rugby (Irish, Wasps, etc), you'd think it'd make sense to get a live game on terrestrial every week or so. It'd make sense for TNT too, or whoever's got the main rights, as a cross-promotional tool.

I think this is a bloody stupid idea. And a lot of the comments agree.

Ive been to a few Bath/Bristol games over the years, at the Rec & Ashton Gate & half the fun is being mixed in with rival supporters. Even Gloucester fans as well.
I notice Clive Knobhead is in favour. As a general rule of thumb, anything he supports is probably wrong

Missed the game at Sandy Park on Saturday but seemed to have been a cracker

Ibitoye plays like a Fijian - Borthwick will never pick him though as he wants someone orthodox

Chiefs seem to be the new Newcastle. We have been very poor this season.

Great games yesterday - Quins v Bath and Bristol v Saracens. Two away wins secured right at the death.

Bristol looked unreal at times on Friday night.

European rugby behind a paywall. £70 I think gets access for the season. Not going to bother as doubt Chiefs will progress, and I can live with avoiding the result of away matches and torrenting when I get home. The home matches I’ll go to, we have Toulouse and Bordeaux which I expect we will lose, but both those teams are great to watch. I just they send over their best players, Dupont, Ramos Willis, Kinghorn, Penaud, Bielle-Biarrey etc the Toulouse game is a Sunday evening kick off so I’m dubious
